buy tickets for the Saints game Sunday outside the stadium?
Don’t do this lots of hustlers you will end up with fake tickets...use stubhub or vivid seats morning of game there will be plenty of tickets and price will drop drastically as it gets closer to kickoff

LOL Give yourself an extra hour. You will struggle get from New Orleans to Campus and park in 1.5 hours on game day.

I personally would purchase a parking pass if you can swing it...there is good availability from LSU at LSU sports.net.
FWIW...we park in Lot 419 at Alex Box stadium. I'm sure you can find passes online near there. It's easy to get out after games bc the flow crosses Nicholson to Burbank. Sometimes the hardest part is getting out of the park lot in 419 but once on Girior it picks up. From Alex Box it's a short distance to Walk On's. Have fun.

Try more for 9.
Better parking spot.
More time to walk the campus
More time to tailgate with generous Tiger fans (99% of them)
And better cushion in case of “oh crap there’s an accident in front of us.”

Thanks. We are leaving NO around 10:30 so we should get there in time.
Dude, leave earlier and get the full LSU game day experience. And beat the traffic.

I'm coming over from Atlanta to take my wife to her first home game also. I went ahead and got lot 406 parking (waiting to get email to print it). I assume if we get there around Noonish we'll have time to visit Mike and walk the campus, discover a lil tailgating and be close to victory hill for the walk at 4:30. Would I find most of the tailgating over at the parade grounds?
Hope you and your son has a great experience. The last time I set foot in Tiger Stadium, Jerry Stovall was coach.

Go ahead and splurge on a parking pass, somewhere like 408 where its not too expensive. 1/2 mile walk from there. You can bounce right into contraflow on Burbank and head down to Bluebonnet to avoid traffic.
Eating around the stadium will be a nightmare, watch the band come down the hill, go in early and watch warmups, and get a manda poboy inside.
Hope yall enjoy!

Regarding getting to NO for a few hours Friday night, I would visit Frenchmen Street. There will be many clubs where you two can have a drink (alcoholic or otherwise) and get something to eat as well. Check out Maison, 30/90, dba, Spotted Cat, Bamboula's, The Blue Nile, and several more all within two blocks of each other. Almost all of these serve food also - which may influence your choice about eating in BR that evening. Its a fun scene and you can walk on the street with a cocktail or beer as long as it is in a cup - no glass.
As an alternative to parking for the game, especially to gain easy access in and out, you could park north of campus off of Highland. I usually park on E. Roosevelt between Thomas Delpit and Georgia. It is 5 blocks from campus and super easy in and out (use Delpit to go North/South from interstate). ONE CAVEAT ON THIS PARKING RECOMMENDATION: It is a somewhat run down area and it may not suit you. I park there for every game and have never had a problem, plus its free.

just want to thank you for being a great dad
you can’t beat Walk-Ons for game day meal- they have it all and you are just South of the Stadium- parking- forget about getting out easy - go back to Walk-ons after game - after 2 hours it’s still bumper to bumper- for you as a rookie- no hope - if you are parked pre 11 to 12 you will be close but also means you ain’t getting out - see Mike and best LSU gear right at his massive cage area - have fun - be careful in NO - lots of crazy’s around the Quarter

We had a great time by the way. Thanks for all the advice. We parked out by City Park Lake and enjoyed the walk through campus and dinner at Raisin Canes. I’ve been to games at 30 FBS schools and my experience at LSU was up there amongst the best. Arkansas wasn’t bring much to the table so I am sure it wasn’t as electric as it can be but it’s an awesome experience. Geaux Tigers.

For the LSU game, walk all around campus taking in all the cooking set ups, check out the RV lot and just talk to people, they will feed you. By 4, be at the stadium to watch the team come down the hill.

Wear your nc state (or Duke or wake or unc gear), dad.
Let him rep his lsu stuff!
Much, much easier for local fans to spot you and invite you in if you have your out of town gear.
