Rispone was a very unappealing candidate.

Be nice to have a State electoral college. Georgia’s the same way as LA it sounds like, but we were fortunate enough to put a Republican in - a darn good one at that. cheers

Does anyone think voting should be like electoral areas in each state, not overall numbers?

I think Rispone’s performance in the debates hurt him badly. I hear he seemed like a doofus.

It's why there needs to be an electoral college-like system.

NAACP was giving free Uber rides to voters. We are beyond fricked. Land owners should be the only eligible voter.

California in a nutshell

People on this site rail on CA, but in actuality the politics are controlled by a few population centers, when there are a lot of good red blooded Americans that live here getting drowned out.

So the people shouldn't get to vote for President in your opinion?

The machine got cranking here in EBRP about 3 weeks ago and you could tell the motivation was there. Seems like there was a lot more politicking than normal this time in BR.

I posted it here awhile back, but all of the local people were on telling the African American community that it Rispone was elected, they would lose all of their entitlements.

Got to overcome Orleans and EBR parishes.
Funny how Democrats are gloating about JBE overcoming the "Trump Effect", but they won't ever admit the fix was already in. The sad reality is that appealing to Louisiana Democrats for GOP votes is like talking to a bunch of trees. The concrete was poured years ago. It is an immovable force.

Laissez les bons temps rouler. People of Louisiana don't want good government - they want pretty good government.

Time for statewide electoral college by parish
You need to learn some history.

Most states had something resembling the system you propose, in that most state senates were based on geographic considerations, rather than “one man one vote.”

They were challenged under the voting rights act and found to be unconstitutional.

Democrats still have the best election day organization. Republicans cannot muster that kind of logistics. Because once all the posturing is done and the messaging is out, it is all about getting your people to turn out and show up. Whether is is giving rides, providing sandwiches.or "ballot harvesting" They know how to go full out. Republicans can but their constituencies are different

They have great logistics. All paid for with our tax dollars. So, ironically, producers pay for the takers to bus in and ensure they can continue to take.
