Haynesville vs homer

Brought out the best and worst in Claiborne parish. I stood on the sidelines near the end zones at many of these games in the 90’s. Always kept my head on a swivel.

This is still a cross town rivalry but LaGrange is 4A and Barbe is 5A... Hard to be real rivals when they are not even in the same district.

Barbe-Sulphur is probably the biggest rivalry in the SW La area.

As a AP kid in the 90s I too remember those STA CHS games being yuge.

Traditionally I'd go STA/EA, St James/Lutcher, Hahnville/Destrehan, PBS/ Redemptorist (RIP)

The Wolves from The St. Paul’s School vs the arse-backward rednecks of Covington high.

The series had to be cancelled for a while because of the violence between the canvases at the game.

Throw Lee High in that mix in the 1970's.
