Why is an attempted coup being allowed to take place?

Is our government setup in such a way that we have to allow this to take place? We all know dems won’t be able to remove Trump but they’re trying their damnedest. This will help Trump in the election but it’s just crazy how it’s just happening and we have to sit back and watch while we all know damn well what’s going on.

If they had the goods, they put em on the table and take an official vote. But they don’t, so they’re trying to unofficially impeach the president in the court of public opinion with the help from the corrupt fake news media.

The "coup" you are referencing is being conducted by the House of Representatives which has essentially plenary power over impeachment. There is no other body, elected or otherwise, that can tell the House whether to impeach. Fortunately, James Madison was a smart little fellow so there are significant checks on the House, especially the 2/3 Senate vote required to convict. The only things "we" can do is express our displeasure by petitioning for the redress of our grievances and voting our representatives out of office. So, if you think about it, it's not a "coup" at all, so much as it is a misguided but constitutional exercise of raw political power.
