Looking Bad for Trump

Let's take a step back and look at where we are on impeachment, because the last week has been devastating for Trump. We now know that yes, the aid to Ukraine was held up on the president's order, unless and until Ukraine investigated his crazy demands.

We now know that the Ukrainians KNEW this was the reason, despite what Trump has said. See the story below. Trump has lied at every stage of this business. The reason why Mulvaney flubbed during his disastrous press conference is that HE was deeply involved in the effort. Trump surrounds himself with true believers, and they must all pledge allegiance to illegal madness.

Why did this effort fail? To the credit of Ukrainian President Zelensky, he refused to play along. Also, Trump had no legal authority to indefinitely hold up military aid to Ukraine. This infuriated the Pentagon. Congress pushed back and then pushed back harder. The problem Trump faced here is that both Republicans and Democrats support aid to Ukraine, so he was facing a shitshow if he continued to hold up the aid.

But it was already too late. Keep this in mind about the devastating testimony from William Taylor yesterday. He was TRUMP'S appointment. Trump sacked the first ambassador to Ukraine for not playing along. He then appointed Taylor. Taylor ALSO would not play along. Because what Trump tried to do here just IS NOT DONE. Instead of going through the State Department and his own ambassador(s), he tried to hand diplomacy over to Giuliani, his private lawyer. There is no precedent for this. So even his own appointment Taylor said no no NO. We now know that John Bolton resigned in PART because of this Ukraine business. He called this Ukraine business a "drug deal."

The more we learn about what happened, the WORSE it looks, not the better. Trump has come completely unhinged.
