I'm gonna be there a few days this weekend and would like to try the best they have. Any other recommendations are appreciated.

It’s not technically “craft” but you won’t find a better beer than Coors Light.

I tend to avoid Texas like the plague but I do enjoy a cold Shiner Bock

Not sure what to suggest, but I'm sure it will be in a generic strip mall.

Texas Roadhouse is what you are looking for. There are several locations too.

How about a classy place, like Wild Pitch. Family friendly and just as classy as the rest of Plano.

Hard eight bbq
Unlawful assembly for beer.
They’re close enough to Plano to try out

If you want a good breakfast I recommend Whistlebritches.

Just drive to Deep Ellum and hit up the Braindead Brewery and Deep Ellum brewery

Go to the Blue Martini on Friday (ladies night) you will get mugged by a cougar, guaranteed.
And although its not techincally Plano, the star area in Mckinney (like ten minutes north of Plano) is a lot of fun. Good bars and restaurants.

There is no need to drive to Dallas for great steak with numerous options less than 10minutes away.
Truth be told, Bob's in Plano > Bob's in Dallas for consistency and service, not to mention parking.

Although not a brewery, Taverna Rossa has a bunch of good craft beers and phenomenal pizza.. very casual
For steaks Capital Grille, Del Friscos, or Randy's (if you want to take the short drive up to Frisco). I've never been overly impressed with Bobs.
Don't have any suggestions about BBQ, but someone suggested Hard 8 which I'll say an emphatic "...ew..." to. Greasy, fatty, and sides are terrible.
You didn't ask about Mexican but there are two awesome places in Legacy West: Mesero and Bulla (tapas)

Preferably a good steak house and/or bbq restaurant with a good selection of pale ales and IPAs.

Tupps brewery in McKinney is one of the top 5 brewers in DFW. Holy Grail Pub in Plano is about the best in Plano. Its decent enough but nothing special. There is also a Gingerman in Plano. Lonestar Taps & Caps is in Lewisville on the Plano border and has one of the best selections in DFW.
Sushi sake in richardson is one of the best sushi places in DFW. Plano has a huge Indian population and Mumbai grill and India Palace are 2 of the best. I also like going to Indo Pak food store that has a food counter in the back and getting chat or a biryani. Its fun to walk around the store too checking out all the exotic stuff they have.

Union Bear for craft beer. It's a micro-brew/restaurant. One of my go to places on the weekend.
BBQ in that area, I'd say check out Hard 8 in The Colony. It's tough to beat, unless you're willing to go to Deep Ellum and try Pecan Lodge.
For steak, my go to is Del Frisco Grille or Double Eagle. Both are great choices. If you're interested in going the "Texas de Brazil" route, there's a restaurant called EG Steakhouse that is pretty awesome as well. I live in Frisco so if you have any questions I don't mind helping out
