A guy in a bunch of my biomed classes at A&M. He went to HS with one of my best friends so we’d sit together. Photographic memory and could grasp any concept easily.
We had a statistics class together that allowed for open note tests because of all the formulas involved and he never brought notes or studied yet aced everything. I think he’s an oncologist now.

quite a few years ago my husband's company had an overnighter where they paid for everyone to stay the night at the fairmont in downtown dallas... The start of the party was in the hotel and was pretty tame until the hypnotist show where a few of the volunteers actually did get hypnotized, both were 30s-40s mom-types. One woman got so freaked out that people were trying to attack her that she cried for an hour straight, and then one poor woman slipped out of her chair while under a trance and landed on the floor spread eagle, dress up around her waist (and she was going commando that night). She didn't immediately come out of it and her husband had to run up there and cover her with his jacket.
Later everyone decided to go to a swanky bar and one partner threw down his card and told the other partner to keep it reasonable and only open for the next hour before he headed back to the hotel. The second partner got schnockered and passed out in a booth and a few of the younger sales guys took that opportunity to invite their friends to come partake in the fun. Bottle after bottle was ordered. At some point a friend of one of the employees who showed up saw someone he didnt know (who actually was an employee) drinking from one of the bottles and started screaming at him. This turned into an all out fist fight that more people got involved in and poured into the street. I saw at least 2 people arrested and an ambulance was called for someone's date who got jacked in the face in the mess of it. At this point the second partner wakes up to be presented with a $10K+ bar bill. At first he refuses to sign the bill and starts trying to figure out who was responsible, but then calls partner number one and after that convo angrily tabs out with no further discussion.
Find out years later that the reason he paid it without protest was that (married) partner number 1 had left to go hook up with partner number 3 and didn't want it to turn into a credit card charge dispute that would tip off his wife that he wasn't actually there when everything went down.
TLDR: Saw a vagina, five figures worth of bottle service, bar fight, arrests, ambulance, married partner hooking up with other partner

My SO isn't a woman, but I am. My favorite gifts are perfume picked out especially for me, gift card for a spa/massage day, and any type of stud earring (pearls, garnet, sapphires, and topaz are all good options)

re: Have you baws and your kids gotten your flu shot yet?

Nope! Last time I got one (2010) I had a severe reaction which left me hospitalized for a week. Since then I haven’t gotten one nor have I contracted the flu.
Although not a brewery, Taverna Rossa has a bunch of good craft beers and phenomenal pizza.. very casual
For steaks Capital Grille, Del Friscos, or Randy's (if you want to take the short drive up to Frisco). I've never been overly impressed with Bobs.
Don't have any suggestions about BBQ, but someone suggested Hard 8 which I'll say an emphatic "...ew..." to. Greasy, fatty, and sides are terrible.
You didn't ask about Mexican but there are two awesome places in Legacy West: Mesero and Bulla (tapas)

If all you want to do is have brief visits with the baby then stay in a hotel. If you really want to help, then stay with them... offer to cook meals and clean (maybe start with what your gf finds unacceptable) while you’re there.
As someone who’s been a new mom, I can’t tell you the number of people who offered to come stay with us and “help.” Turns out, for most of them, what they meant by “help” was that they wanted to sit on the couch and hold the baby while I cleaned made meals for them, and did dishes, in addition to all the “gross” stuff like changing diapers, doing spit up laundry, and BF every 2 hours, the entire duration of their stay. That sucks and is not help.

I kept a journal when i was 13-17. Recently found it in a storage box and read through it. Good god there are some really dumb takes on life in there... I'm very thankful that there was no easy way to publish those thoughts for all the world to see and archive back then.

After a lot of interneting, we bought a Happsy (another lesser known mattress in a box company). Love both it and the pillows they make as well. It was about $1400 but they will occasionally have discount codes. There's one now for $200 off.

I know 3 people who are thin as rails who are type 2s.
This. My grandmother never weighed more than 115 and she developed type 2 in her late 60s... like a late onset allergy. It was really sad. She had to have toes amputated from it.
I can't imagine how terrible it would be to deal with that from a spouse or parent and reading some of the responses on this thread honestly made me really sad.
Why the heck did her husband allow her to go on a girls gambling trip when he knew she had a gambling problem???
Also curious as to how she ended up that far in the hole so quickly and how that transpired.
The first time I went into a casino I played 3 hands of blackjack and lost $60 in less than 10 minutes, thought to myself "well this isnt fun... I'm going to the bar"

I basically lived at my boyfriends house sr year. He had 4 roommates who were all pretty entertaining and liked to play practical jokes. One morning my boyfriend gets a call at like 5:00 AM. Person says "Hey man I'm interested in your monkey. You still got it?" Confused, he says you have the wrong number and hangs up. 10 seconds later the same guy calls back and tells him he got the number off a flyer that said "FREE MONKEY available to a good home!" They were posted up all over campus. He got probably 100+ calls over the next week.

Shite. I drive a Jeep GC and my favorite beers are Southern Star Black Crack and Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout... Also have a husband and kid... :dude: Rebel stuff.
First post on TD and probably going to get killed but here it goes...
Agree whole heartedly with NC.
One issue that really bothers me on the subject is the seemingly coordinated effort to overstate the dangers of not getting vaccinated while understating the actual disease risk and the outright silencing of those that have been injured. For example: We see hundreds (if not thousands) of main stream news stories every year of “measles outbreaks” (despite the fact that these A) never turn out to be pandemic, B) are infecting just as many vaccinated people as unvaccinated people, and C) there have been 0 deaths in otherwise healthy people from measles in over 15 years).
I live in Texas in which the “measles outbreak” consists of an “earth shattering” 15 people, most of which were infected by foreign travelers (or illegals). At the same time, never once have I turned on the news to see a story of a child tragically harmed by a vaccine... Not because it isn’t happening, because IT IS. Why is that?
