Rispone because he’s a business man and this state needs a serious overhaul and boost in our economy. He is someone who has been successful in running a business and will be successful in turning this state around

Ralph Abraham is demonstrating exactly what leadership looks like. This is outstanding and exactly what our state needs now more than ever.

What, a republican candidate begging another one to slack off? Yeah, that's winner talk right there.

No doubt. RA should own his comments instead of playing politics & whining about Party loyal BS. Nobody gives a crap about the spineless establishment. Be a man of your word!

Abraham should do the state a solid and withdraw.

This is what I am thinking at this time. I am not sure if Rispone is the answer, but I don't think Abraham will beat him. We cannot allow JBE to win in the primary.

A week before the election? After absentee votes have already been cast? A week after early voting started? Are you stupid or are were you kicked in the head by a mule? Those supporters of Abraham that have already voted either by absentee or early voting can't go change their vote to Rispone. Abraham has been pulling about 10% of the democratic voters support away from JBE in the primary according to the polls, but if Abraham dropped out those voters would likely go back to JBE which would make sure that JBE won in the primary.

The idea that either candidate should dropout and endorse the other at this point is beyond ridiculous.

Not true. A career politician is someone that is making or changing their career to that of a politician.

I don't see Rispone running for any other office or becoming a DC lobbyist after he is Governor. I do see Abraham continuing to run for other offices.

Rispone will have to change his career to become governor because there are shite ton of ethics law that would stop Rispone from continuing to run his business if he got elected. So therefore no matter how you look at it you are voting for a career politician if you use that definition.

How could that be true? I thought he couldn't practice while serving in Congress. That is what he told all of us at least...

Once again you thought wrong. Abraham "retired" after he got elected. However, that does not mean that he gave up his medical license. I had a sinus infection in August of 2015 and I went to his he clinic. Congress was in recess and the doctor that had taken over his clinic had taken the week off and Abraham was covering. He can still practice medicine whenever his schedule allows it as long as he keeps his license current.

Rispone will not be able to keep running his business if he gets elected (just like Trump was not able to keep running the Trump Organization after he got elected). Since Rispone is "in it to win it" then he has declared that he is a career politician using your definition of a career politician.

He said he would put it in a blind trust. Which I am not sure you can do when you run a company like he does. Let his brother run it? I think his brother might do that already for the most part.

Either way he is not running his company anymore but he would be running the state. That means that he changed his occupation/career to become a politician which according to rodfather's f**ked up definition makes him a career politician.

I don't know either guy, but people really believe Abraham is taking some sort of high road here?

This is classic political speak of subtly bash my fellow R while making it look like we are united against the common evil...

Bitch please

Exactly right.

Both men have a lot to offer. Let the best man win.

Just don’t vote Edwards, but vote.

bad choice of words Ralph... maybe JBE isn't the best governor for some, but why do you think this state needs to be "saved"?

Already voted and already requested my absentee ballot for the runoff if there is one. My sauces in the La democrat party are feeling pretty confident that JBE will eek it out in the primary though unless this impeachment talk just really fires up the base and voters refuse to vote for anyone with a D behind their name.

So, not much has changed between Rispone and Abraham. Ironically I thought the new sexual harassment attack ad against Edwards was very effective. Ironic in that neither of the Republican candidates in the race had the energy or money to come up with it, because they are spending all of theirs against each other. The ad was very cleverly calibrated to chip away support from people who might be inclined to vote for Edwards. Yet Rispone and Abraham are in a pitched battle with each other and keep drawing attention back to their own fight with each other. Right now, they are only concerned with chipping away Republican votes from each other. Maybe they feel they have no choice.

I am more encouraged by national events pissing off La republicans which forces them to vote against the dems any chance they get. I talked to my aunt on Monday (whose father was one of Edwin Edwards right hand men back in the day and who still socializes with the wives of the La democratic party and she is a big dem) and she said they were just giddy because Rispone had sunk Abraham and that was sending votes back to JBE. I texted her today and she said the dems think that it is too little too late but they are not taking chances. So I am expecting a YUGE turnout in cemetery voters next sat.
