So one game should keep someone from the HOF?

Saban more in his 4 years at LSU than Les did in his 11. Tell me how I’m wrong.
Recruiting, total wins, total payouts from tv and bowl money, number of players in the NFL, and number of times Les wore LSU gear on ESPN for 11 years doing interviews season after season.
All of that helped expose the brand.
Now you can argue the social media and sec network and big tv deals changed a lot from 04-16.
But that changed for every program.

Les Miles should be inducted into La sports HOF before Nick Saban.

Saban took over a 3-8 team 50 years removed from a title
Miles took over a 9-4 team 2 years removed from a title.
I really don't understand why people use this as a strong argument.
Are you saying Miles took over a team that went 9-4 on its own, negating Saban's influence, or are you saying only Saban could have lead that team to a 9-4 record, ignoring what Les did with the team the next year?
Your argument sucks in proving your point, and you have to contradict yourself to combat someone using your argument to prove you wrong.

He was last year, you idiot

Les was inducted first, but he shouldn’t have been.
Saban built the LSU football program as you now know it.
I’m not even gonna say Miles won because of Saban’s players or that he wasn’t a good coach in his own right — but a lot of ppl don’t realize that Nick did a lot of things outside of just coaching football games that LSU will be reaping benefits of for years to come.
Facilities, fundraising, just generally lobbying for resources needed to compete for championships, etc. Arguably as instrumental as Emmert was.
Everyone arguing that Les won more games blah blah blah needs to understand that none of that would have been possible without Saban’s contributions.
Call me when Les turns the Jayhawks around. That’s almost how irrelevant LSU football was when Saban arrived.

This is a horrible comparison considering miles doesn't have that success without saban building LSU into what it was in 2005.
This is the "he won with Saban's players argument" that is so stupid it's not even funny. He still had to coach those teams. They still had to perform at the level that they did to win those games.
I mean, look at the dogshit that is Florida State Football right now. The Noles had multiple Top 10 recruiting classes under Jimbo--classes that are on that team right now--and they are terrible.
ETA: I don't really care which one goes in first. Hell, given that both are still coaching, it's odd for either to be in (I know Miles wasn't coaching when inducted) right now. But both deserve to be in.

NINJA VANISH.
He was never heard from again.

Saban in his 5 years at LSU only was ranked under 15 twice. People have revisionist history in regards to his tenure at LSU and confuse it with his dominance at Alabama.

You’re conflating people pointing out that Saban built the program with people arguing that Miles did it with Saban’s players.
There’s more to running a college football program that competes for championships than just the football part. Again... Saban deserves as much credit as Emmert for changing the culture at LSU & lobbying/teaching them what was needed to compete at that level in terms of fundraising, facilities, resources in general, etc.
LSU hires Miles in 2000 you wanna tell me they win the SEC title in ‘01? BS. I’ll eat crow if Les turns the Jayhawks into a perennial CFB power lol... not that far off from what Saban started with.

He turned Oklahoma State around.
And no LSU was never and has never been as bad as OSU and Kansas. You don't know shite about LSU history if you actually believe that.
Every coach knows you need upgrades. What? LSU never did any upgrades under Les?
Curly hallman made them put in an indoor practice facility. Saban benefited from that when others in the country weren't doing that.
Georgia just got one last year.

The comparisons don’t have to be 1:1 for the point to be valid. LSU isn’t OkSt, but Les didn’t win a NC at OkSt either... Charlie Mac’s greatest accomplishment was winning an SEC title in 1970, and I can’t believe you just name-dropped Curley friggin Hallman lol.
The 90s were a far cry from 1958 and a far cry from 1970.
The golden age of LSU football is now. And it began in 2000. Period.
Everyone loves Les & he deserves credit for ‘07 and ‘11 as well as his contributions to LSU. But there’s probably a parallel universe where he never leaves the program, and I’m glad we don’t live in it.
