I’m gonna rewatch this week and break it down. I’ll report back what I find. I’m sure there may have been one or two I missed, but overall, TX is not known for their tackling prowess, and for as many touches as he had, you would expect more YAC and elusiveness, IMO.
I think as the season progresses, you will find that he will get less touches outside the tackles, b/c we have backs that will make that first defender look silly.

It was also his blown block on 2nd down that put us in that predicament of 3rd and 17. He also had a blown block on Oassai in the red zone that caused us to settle for a field goal. He whiffed on another earlier in the game. His pass blocking leaves a lot to be desired.

He was pretty good but everybody was saying he's like early Mark Ingram. I just wanted to see Emery get some carries.

Clyde made a key block last night on that last TD drive. Look at the video replay. That LB (believe it was the LB) came so close to wrapping up Joe on that blitz. Clyde delivered a not so perfect block but it was enough to free Joe and allow him to step up into the pocket and deliver the pass. The rest is history and will go down as a classic effort. I've replayed that play at least a dozen times now. Everyone delivered on that pass, including the O/L.

Sunday arm chair coaches, lol. The right decision in that environment is to play your dependable veteran. CEH has great vision; the Darren sproles factor of hiding behind blockers. And his ability to get leverage and keep churning; dude is a solid back and his own delusional fanbase the only ones complaining about him. Sad

I just rewatched that. Clyde was executing a fake handoff. I think it was 81, Moss, who needed to pick up the blitzer. Moss didn't block anyone.

Running lanes were definitely there when he got loose for a couple of runs. When they aren’t there, we can surely tell. Dude has experience and reliability but his vision ain’t all that. Wide open field to his left many times and he continuously runs straight into a clogged hole. My only real gripe about last night.

There were multiple times he juked a defender out of his cleats at the LOS and made positive yards when 99% of rb's would have been tackled for a loss or no gain. Go back and watch it again. He's no LF7, but he brings some good stuff to the table.

Agreed that he should be one of our main backs but we need to get the MORE talented freshmen reps. The speed of John Emery is going to be needed to beat some of the Sec teams.

People need to forget his goddam recruiting ranking. He’s been practicing with the team and they know what they have in him.

The 2 freshman will likely get increasing reps over the next 3 weeks if the O keeps producing and can substitute more guys. Staff already knows what CEH and LF can do, definitely need the big play capabilities from the young guys, or at least of one of them. Davis didn't screw up the 3 plays I saw him in for, but if the plan is to RS one of them only giving him 3 plays in the grand scheme of things Saturday was a waste. Nothing against Clyde, he is steady, but not spectacular.

I missed 2 runs in the 1st H that included making a defender miss and getting YAC.
I still stand by the fact that LSU will be better served to use 22 more to his strengths, and give the outside the hash iso plays to backs better suited for those plays.
The dropped swing pass with blockers on 3rd and 1 first drive of 2nd H is a well designed play for him. His drop was almost as critical as the TX drop in the endzone
