Aramark runs the Minute Maid Park concessions. This girl was about to take our order at Shake Shack when the national anthem started playing. She stops and says she can’t work while it plays. I thought sure that’s fine and turned towards the field. Everyone else kept taking orders. 3 people behind me places orders while this went on. The team leader walks by and I asked her why I was the only one who had to wait and she said that girl likes to be difficult and they sent her home right there.
Not directed at you as you didn’t seem to care too much, but kind of dumb for us as a society to look down on Kapernick for kneeling but not applaud a concession employee for participating...

If I'm ordering when it plays, I'm going to stop and be respectful of the anthem. I don't think that girl is at fault.

Why did LSU get away from having different high school or civic groups work each stand? Was it just not wanting to split the take with that group? I always liked having the same people every year right by my section. They worked hard because their interests were in getting a percentage share of what they sold.

I'm shocked Woody kept Aramark this season. This is on him. I'm hoping fans let him know about Aramark in the survey.

This.
His hands are tied here. He could possibly find "cause" to fire them after this year though I'd guess...like the Titans did a couple years ago.

Because the SEC says you have to serve in cups. This isn't an LSU decision.

Mockler is supplying the product, but due to a myriad of restrictive laws, several of which Mockler ironically pushed for, they aren't able to distribute it directly to the customer. It has to be bought by LSU/Aramark and then sold to the customer.
The cold storage issue is a massive problem. Most venues of this size would just load out a ton of product ahead of the first game, and whatever didn't get sold would just sit in storage for the next game(s), and reorders would be pulled in as needed. Essentially LSU has to try and determine what the need is game by game, because they can't store any extra product and by law Mockler can't buy it back

Bingo. This was a money grab by LSU. LSU accepted bids from vendors. Those vendors pay LSU a lump sum to be able to sell product in the stadium then they make their money on marked up food sales.
The same thing happened with the Block Party tailgate shite. Block Party pays LSU a lump sum to "lease" the land and then makes their money back on the rental fees.
It was all done to ensure LSU had guaranteed money. It's good business sense but they went cheap so we get what LSU paid for in this case. Block Party is just an entire different shite show.

I don't know why you can't run kegs though...

Why cans. Get 2500 kegs and call it a day

Which is going to be huge problem because Aramark is controlling the inventory and these dumb fricks ran out of everything at one point or another last year. They routinely ran out of water by halftime in the East Upper.

LSU isn't equipped to run lines in a few weeks time. My guess is beer sales will be really good this year and LSU will invest in the infrastructure in the next few years.
Posted on 8/27/19 at 9:31 am to MightyYat
They should just make everyone shotgun the beer right there then the can is empty. Save on cups too.

It took LSU 15+ years to replace 30" tube TV's on the concourses with modern flat screens. I don't think they are going to get the entire stadium outfitted with keg lines in a couple of months

She wasn’t being respectful. She was being lazy. She played on her phone and even when it ended she didn’t get back to work.

Does anyone know what vendor handled beer sales when the Saints played in Tiger Stadium after Katrina?
Aramark
JK I have no idea.
Current vendor is Centerplate who also does Ole Miss concessions.

Aramark employees will be restocking with beers retrieved from the ice trucks. Because employees will have to crack open cans and pour them into cups, the wait for a purchased beer is also longer.
That is going to be the ultimate cluster frick. The lines are bad when a purchase just involves unscrewing a water bottle cap

quote:two months to hook up some fridges and kegs
They just found out about this two months ago. Not enough time to hook up kegs for draft beer throughout the whole stadium. Have to be able to store and keep the kegs cold. I am willing to bet that is something they will look into beyond this year but for now they are just trying to get the beer to the people how they can.
We put a man on the damn moon.

Will they be serving any local beers or just generic swill?
