I’d look at either the Blackjack or Yellowfin

I'd find a used Sheaffer, Albury Bros, or custom carolina boat then sink another 10-20k into making it mine.

Usually have to pick between speed or rough water capability. Not to say that one won’t be good at both but it won’t excel at either. Your heavy tank builds will ride the best but will come at a sacrifice to speed, fuel economy, and draft.
I think there are plenty of options in the market nowadays that will do good enough job at both.
Some good suggestions in the thread and some I don’t think are realistic. You have a great budget at 80k. But some of these super high end bay boats being thrown out there are 125k and up.
A 24 footer will be plenty to do what you want. Hell a 22 footer probably would also except when on the few occasions that you want 5 people fishing. I don’t think a 26 foot boat is necessary and will be out of your budget if buying new.

So here are my thoughts on some of the readily available mass produced boats.
Some heavy boats are Ranger and Sportsman. Both with nice 24 ft rigs. Sea Hunt also makes a heavy 24 if I remember correctly although not on the same level as Ranger.
Skeeter is always solid.
Blackjack is great as long as you are ok with less than 24 foot. Their big one will be over your budget.
Pathfinder is a great boat and a bit lighter if you want that speed and shallow draft. Still a good riding boat as well.
Blazer is similar to the Pathfinder but not the same fit/finish. So cheaper.
Bluewave and Nautic Star both make pretty well rounded 24 foot hulls.
I am not terribly familiar with Shearwater other than knowing that they are expensive and fast.

I bought a 24 bay champ in 2009 with a Yamaha F250. Loaded out with power pole, gps, trolling motor, onboard charger etc for 51K. The numbers being paid for a bay boat just sound insane. For what it is worth the bay champ was a 48 mph boat loaded down and 51 light. Ride was has good as it gets in a bay boat. A friend has a 24 blue wave with the 300 Yamaha and it runs in the low 50's.

I just received a price for a 2019 224. Let me know if you want to see the offer sheet

I like Blackjack boats but those Everglades are pretty damn sweet.

Anyone have experience with Avenger bay boats?

find a good pre-owned. new price on bayboats is silly.

New and used boat prices are silly.

Good buddy has an Everglades 243. Nice boat. Great for family use. Not really good as a fishing boat.

They are super nice but a few things that would make it a no go for me. They are probably the heaviest bay boat out there. So it will ride like a dream but the draft is almost 3 ft. Also fuel economy and speed really suffers. The last one I looked at was over $125k and that was quite a few years back. Likely even more expensive now.
Good boat to hit outside beaches for trout and then head out for light offshore. I would never bring it in the marsh.

After fishing on a cat style boat a couple times, that will be the way I look when I decide to get a boat.

Anybody know anything about Turner Boatworks? I’ve seen them at the last couple sportsman shows and look like phenomenal setup for inshore with all the deck space but have never seen one out on the water. Think the 26’ was around 90k.

There’s one in hackberry, pro 2 weeks old and is a splash of an older YF. Front deck is bigger than a strip club stage and access to bilge was incredible. Can’t remember if he had to 350 or 400r but either would push past 60 easy. IMO, doubtful it will be a commercial success with the market saturation of Tx boats and >$100,000 boats.

tideline 23 hybrid (cat)
Blackjack 256
Blue Wave 24 Pure Bay
The above would be my list. Tideline and BJ will be a little over your budget. Blue Wave should be a little under but not much

What is the board's opinion of Triton? Older tritons?
Posted on 8/8/19 at 1:36 pm to Four Leaf Tayback
Tideline 235
My buddy has one, fishes everything from Bayou Black for bass to Ship Shoal for Snapper. Even landed a few Tuna off of it.

Those things look awesome. How do they ride? How much do they run $50k+?
