I'm torn between the two. I have a traegar smoker. I'm also looking to get grill to go with it. What is your preference?

I prefer cooking on charcoal, but I find I use my gas one a whole lot more. Both are Webers.

If you want ease of use.
Gas.
If you want better food that really has a grilled flavor.
Charcoal.
It's pretty much that simple.

Go with a flattop grill

Get both. I have a Weber Genesis and Weber Kettle(also have WSM but not gonna help you).
Both serve their purpose and do certain things better than the other.
Gas obviously super convenient.

How so? Charcoal puts out way more heat than flames. And if you have a grill that allows you to raise and lower your charcoal bed like mine then you can almost lay the meat on top of the charcoal.

I always swore by charcoal and still prefer that flavor, but having a propane grill is just so damn convenient

I had gas one growing up and my first one was gas.
Now that I've switched to charcoal I'll never go back.

Agree.
I do my skirt steak and flank steak on my charcoal for this reason. Actually do most of my steaks on my charcoal.

How so?

I use both. I prefer charcoal but sometimes the gas grill is simply more convenient.

We have a BGE and before that were Weber, but I would like a gas grill after we move to the next house.
Getting the BGE up to make a few hot dogs for the 2 of us is annoying

I do alot of outdoor cooking. I grill over charcoal only with certain things.
I don't want to go through the hassle and aggravation of charcoal for something i'm cooking for seven to ten minutes like a steak, chop, boneless/skinless thigh or a burger.
Charcoal is for things like super thick tomahawk steaks and half chickens.
Get a gasser.

I pretty much agree.
