How many times as a student did you use Middleton?

Ha! You think people on the rant were actually students?? Most don't even know LSU is a school, just a football team. (Maybe a basketball and baseball team too).

Late 80’s but a lot. At least 3 times/wk, after studying at Middleton, would hit that taco joint just off campus (2 blocks down from Chimes) for 25c tacos and 25c draft beer. Bolt out of Middleton at 11 and it was open til midnight.

Used it some, early 80s got a late-night handy there and then she used notebook paper to clean me up.

So an architecturally reprehensible edifice still makes my lower parts tingle because of the associative memory.

I used it every day as study space.

I almost always had multiple books checked out at any given time.

But I was a history major. Books are what we do.

I was there in the late 80s. Back when you had to use the library. Used it a lot.

I would imagine even today it's good to have as a quiet place to study.

Late 90s/2000s as well. Used to group study in there as well as use the study pods. Maybe 5-10x year. Not that much considering how much I studied a home.

I used Wiley tower (la tech) a good bit when I went there. Internet was in its infancy so research papers, English papers, engineering papers, etc..... you had to use it to do your research.

Plus it was quiet and almost always empty from the 4th floor to the 9th floor. The basement was like the library in ghostbusters.

I never understood using the library to study. If I want control over noise and distractions, I headed home, to where I have complete control over noise and distractions.

I probably set foot into Middleton a half dozen times max in five years.

I was in several study groups and we used the library weekly. That was long ago - sometimes we met in a South Stadium dorm room when the weather wasn't too hot!

I was shocked to see the picture someone posted earlier this week of missing sheetrock and disrepair.

8-10 times a year. Would have been more if the place wasn’t such a dump.
