Looking for boat launch or road access to the upper Amite River to access sand bars and do some fishing from a kayak north of Fred’s and Big John’s

Used to be a launch off of Hoo Shoo Too road, but you may get murdered. It's sketchy af in that hood.
Best is to launch at Big Johns or Freds and be careful. I run it in a 20' bass boat, but I cross my fingers every time.
When in doubt IDLE

I don't think that is true, there is a public boat launch at the end of Carew Harris road in Denham.

True. Is public, and 50/50 chance you're truck gets broken into by meth heads. Not exaggerating.

Carew Harris looks like a good spot to launch my kayak. Do you thing it would be safe on a weekday during daylight? Maybe do some bank fishing while armed?

I live by Fred’s. That would be a good paddle in a kayak to the nearest sandbar

Lock your truck and make sure your insurance is current.

How far north are the bars? I’d never heard of them so went left out of Fred’s on the 4th.
Got to the house that looks like it has a nice private bar / beach and turned around. Did I not go far enough?

If you have access to some property with an abundance of wild turkeys that I can kill I can arrange for you to have access way up river.

If you have a kayak dolly, you can put in at BREC Frenchtown Road Conservation area. There is a 0.7 mile trail that parallels railroad track that goes down to the river.

I have property and can help you out. Post your email and I'll get with you.

No kayak, just looking for a quiet sandbar to take my little boy too from time to time and do some catch and release. Not ready to take him out on the boat yet and Frenchtown Rd is hit or miss with regards to quiet. If the offer is still good lmk!

We put in at the entrance to White Oak landing. Off of Harrells Ferry road. We went most of the way, then hooked on to a party barge, made it down to Port Vincent.
I have put in above Watson, made it to Magnolia Bridge Rd in a day.

I actually intentionally leave truck open and $20 in glovebox. I'd rather they take the $20 for their fix and stop looking for other things to steal.
Though that doesn't do anything if local billybob doesn't like you fishing "his" river and wants to do some tire slitting and paint scraping.

Where did you put in above Watson? I’m in Greenwell Springs, Central.
