Here's a look at the 10 most obese states in the U.S. and the percentage of obese adults living in that location, per Consumer Protect.

1. West Virginia (38.1 percent)
2. Mississippi (37.3 percent)
3. Oklahoma (36.5 percent)
4. Iowa (36.4 percent)
5. Alabama (36.3 percent)
6. Louisiana (36.2 percent)
7. Arkansas (35 percent)
8. Kentucky (34.3 percent)
9. Alaska (34.2 percent)
10. South Carolina (34.1 percent)

quote:

“In 1990, obese adults made up less than 15 percent of the population in most U.S. states. By 2010, 36 states had obesity rates of 25 percent or higher, and 12 of those had obesity rates of 30 percent or higher,” according to Harvard University’s School of Public Health.

“While U.S. obesity rates have, overall, stayed steady since 2003, the rates are still rising in some groups, and disparities persist: Non-Hispanic black, Hispanic, and Mexican American adults have higher rates of obesity than non-Hispanic white adults,” the school added.

It's gotten to where a slim person stands out in the crowd instead of the other way around.

No surprise. Except for Iowa, Those also look like the states with less intelligent and educated people.

I wonder if the BMI chart has changed over the years. I don’t consider myself fat. I’m probably more average plus a bit. Dad bod kind. BMI at my height (6’) says I need to weigh 140-180. 140? That is Ethiopian thin. That’s the Optimal. 180 hasn’t been seen since my junior year of high school and every yearly physical days I’m as healthy as can be. Trust me. I could stand to lose a few pounds but I have an entirely different definition of obese than this article.

Except for Alaska, all of those states are also in the top states in fast food restaurants per capita. Louisiana, as many as we have seems to be the least offensive, but I guess we make up for it in fried shite everywhere you turn.

Iowa.

Not as much morbid obesity but everyone is sort of tall and doughy.

Funny, before reading I figured it had something to do with not only fat white people, but blood from the indigenous, which would include our southern neighbors.

The states in the top have plenty of both.
