re: Rewatching the Fiesta Bowl - Thoughts on Burrow.

Well, for one I said total yardage and TDs.
Total yards and TDs for Burrow in 2018 was right under 3300 yards and 23 TDs. So with a year of experience at LSU under his belt along with returning 80% of his production I don't think 200 more yards and 7 more TDs is really all that unrealistic.
And while that was my opinion about Mississippi State, I would urge you to look up the statistics on who had the best total defense in 2018. Or you don't have to because I can tell you right now. It's Mississippi State. You realize they had 3 defenders off the board in the first round this past year, right?
The more and more I refute you, the more I start to wonder if you even watch the sport.

What stats are you looking at? I'm looking at the ones that say he threw for about 2800 yards and 16 TDs last season???
I think you need to relook the stat sheet

If the Oline is good, Joe won’t be flying under the radar. He’s gonna be a stud.

Most of which came in the 7 OT historically long TAMU game. Let's hope Joe doesn't have to play another game like that AND LOSE despite everything

The fact that 3 defenders went in the first round means absolutely nothing to them. They have the football IQ of a potato.
And, as to total yards for JB in '19, 4000+ wouldn't surprise me in the least - and if this offense clicks at all, 4000+ passing yards wouldn't surprise me.

576 - 196; 184 passing - 33 ranked pass defense giving up average 198/game
359-216 24-17 defense turned them over twice 195 passing against team giving up 178/game; but terrible against the run
371-421 defense scored a TD and offense let it go 3 and out twice following a special teams blunder. Defense wire down, but still scored a TD to keep them in it.
UCF without Milton is irrelevant stats.
There isn’t anything that sticks out. Scraping out a win vs Arky is about where this team was all last year.

Anyone who says that wasn't a great win is nuts.
However, it's understandable to have some concerns about farting out the win vs Arkansas who wasn't just a bad team, they were horribly bad. It's the inconsistency that drives people nuts.
What about the Southeastern game? Or the La Tech game?
Why can't we be consistent against our opponents? You can get up to play Georgia, get up to play Bama or Florida.... but when it's a bad team, we just play blah. That's on the HC. That's on the game plan and so forth. It falls into the HC's lap.

Well thank god that worthless piece of shite could get up and shovel pass the ball to bama.
DO NOT bring him up. My blood pressure rises at the mention of his name.

Except he didn't lose. The refs blatantly handed the game to anm. Anyone with a brain knows we outplayed them.

We almost lost to la tech when Lee was qb... heck Troy too.
Maybe it’s a LSU thing not a O thing?

The good news for LSU fans is that JB will always give maximum effort, show great leadership and toughness. Type of kid that makes you proud of the program.

Remember, you're on record as saying Burrow will get drafted higher than Haskins. That means being one of the top 14 picks next April.

Even teams like Bama and Clemson struggle against certain lower tiered opponents, but 9+ times out of 10 the stronger teams will pull off the wins against the mid-majors or lower tiered conference opponents. These are 18-22 year old young men who likely struggle in preparation and focus going into a game when they're 20-30 point favorites. Half these guys are probably working the coeds harder than they work for games against Southwest Missouri Tech.
It's the lack of consistent offensive production against good teams with a defensive line that's so frustrating. It's obvious what LSU's problems have been over the past decade or so... poor offensive line pass protection/execution against teams with a pass rush creating a one-dimensional offense.
Joe Burrow has all the talent he needs to be a top 10 or top 20 college QB, but will the offensive line and offensive system allow it? I think things are moving in the right direction (or CEO is at least trying to fix the problem), but we will see when the going gets tough against the top competition if he can stick to the change or if LSU's offense reverts back to the bland statue-style pocket passing that can't complete timing routes over the LBs or deep in the secondary because of the pass rush.
I am encouraged with the Brady hire!!!
