I worked worms corner for a year...skipped motorman and became AD. In other words... oilfield...there's not a more "baw" job than oilfield.

During college, I worked as a gofer for an industrial contractor at Chevron Oak Point in Belle Chase.

Wasn't too bad because I'd do a lot of different things. Take the company truck to go get supplies off site. A little bit of firewatch. Run tools or supplies from the tool shed to personel in different parts of the plant. Even had my own bicycle with a huge wire basket on it.

Hot shot driver.

Which was bliss, except for the near collisions and gruesome crash scenes.

While in college I was hired to strip away about 60 years of paint from a two-story apartment building. I spent a few weeks high up on a ladder with a chisel and a blowtorch.

Also I worked a summer in the warehouse of a furniture company, moving stuff around and delivering furniture to jerks who didn't think to tip us for placing large heavy pieces of furniture exactly where they wanted in their houses.

Before chopper harvesters, the old cane cutters required cane to be stacked across rows. And if it fell between rows, the claw tractor would roll over it and push it into the mud. I walked in front and picked up any cane that fell between rows incorrectly and laid it on top between twos rows. Did this for a thanksgiving and Christmas break in hs.
