Leaks always have a purpose. You leak something so someone is enticed to do something to counter it or beat it. And normally you don't leak things about a team's offer if you have any plans of taking that deal as is. So I think the leak is to get Boston to put more in their deal more than it is getting the Lakers to do anything. Lakers deal is a last resort and Klutch knows that, which is why they went all scorched earth yesterday. I don't think we hear any Boston leaks until its already done or they take themselves out of the running

Kyrie prepared to join the Nets

I got to say, I really dont think Ainge will trade Tatum with all the smoke of Kyrie leaving.

Just hope Griff can get Kuzma/Ingram/Ball/4th at least. I'd be happy with that. Then we can flip Kuzma at the deadline this season for more future picks.

What scares me is Ingram having to get paid next season.

The thing that scares me about that is there's a possibility that there's no leaks from Boston, because they are very tight lipped and there's no reason for them to leak anything, and we're not leaking anything because their offer as it stands is shite and it will basically destroy our leverage if it got out.

Considering what Rich Paul has been leaking, our offers are probably in the category of “burn this mother down” rather than “make the deal”.

I would not be surprised if they have a couple of weak offers on the table, with a message to Griffin was to bring the best and final offer from LA to them. Not much to talk about until then. They aren't the one who needs to find a 3rd team.

I don't believe rich paul is privy to any trade negotiations.

I didn’t see it posted but Jeanie’s mouthpiece came out and said this is being reported wrong. Kuz is not being held back. Pels just don’t seem to care.

“Running” may be overstating it a bit.

“Having a lot of influence” would cover it.

The main reason I say they aren’t running things is that other people in the front office, like Kurt Rambis, helped shitcan Lue’s hiring as coach through a refusal to give him a standard length contract while he was still getting paid by Cleveland. (Depending on language, Lue may not have gotten his Cleveland payout for taking the LA job, meaning the Lakers essentially wanted him to give up a ton of free money for no additional job security)

Bron ain't negotiating lol. He probably told them to do whatever it takes and try to keep what they can.

I'm sure for all Bron cares they could have opened up with the godfather offer and then some.

I know we like to meme LeGM, but let's be real.

there’s no negotiating to do as far as what goes out from the lakers.
griffin has said no thanks, clearly

the mandate is to get another star, and that mandate is from Lebron
that’s all that matters

I do. I just don't think there will be some grand deal along with him. Like if it is Tatum and Smart, then I see maybe the Sac pick and one other pick not being the Memphis pick.

LA will end up going all in with Lonzo, Ingram, Kuzma, 4, and probably another 1st.

Which benefits us most in Griffins eyes?

I take the Tatum deal because I see the long term fit and with less red flags, but that's me.

I think Tatum is better and it has the added bonus of hurting a western conference competitor by denying them AD.

Wouldn't that be extremely dumb by Boston considering they would only have AD for 1 season? I think the Kyrie news of him going to the Nets essentially handcuffs Boston.
