Am I also being told that we would have a starting catcher who was hurt for half the season, three pitchers who due to injury did not throw a single pitch all season long, two starting pitchers who missed months of time, another starting pitcher who missed multiple starts, and our four hole hitter have an obvious wrist injury most of the season?

If I was given all of that information at the start of the season, then yes, I'd be very happy with how we finished up.

This is pretty close to my thoughts but I'm never happy when we lose.

I would have totally believe it and understood it. shite happens. It always does.
If you believed the media polls that LSU was #1 in the country you are an absolute fool.

I always get a laugh at all the fools on here that believe preseason polls. Ranters stay upset because LSU in any sport doesn’t live up to totally baseless expectations.

This right here.

And how the frick did we back into a super regional? We had one of the toughest draws in the regional and didn't lose a game. Getting to host because uga shite the bed =/= backing into a super regional.

You need to take another guess.

We swept our regional, which happened to be one of the toughest draws with a super hot USM team coming in.

Did we benefit from UGA shitting the bed? Yes. Only in terms of HOSTING a super.

Fact is we did not "back into" a super regional.

Yall some frickin clowns

Nothing makes me think that you're wrong about this because we have seen with our own eyes that the way that LSU hires new head coaches involves no rational analysis whatsoever. They might as well throw dice to pick the new hire.

But, the LSU baseball program right now is in trouble. Whether it will rise again remains to be seen.

Here’s a different spin. If after we won the CWS in 2009, if someone told you that our team would be tied for 6th best in the SEC over the next 10 years, would you be OK with that performance? Would you be in favor of that coaching staff making no changes? Would you be in favor of retaining that coach??

To save time, SEC teams in the last 10 years, visits to Omaha and CWS Championships (parentheses)

Florida. 7 (1)
Vandy 4 (1)
Arkansas 4 (0)
USCe 3 (2)
LSU 3 (0)
MissSt 3 (0)

We will be stuck in baseball purgatory until Paul is gone. He's awful.

You are right. Said it in another thread. I don’t care how we get to Omaha, back in to sr or be the overall national seed. The goal is to get there no matter injuries or other reasons. Paul has been a great ambassador for LSU but winning is everything. Ball, bat, hit, pitch, play defense. We have to play the game as it is. Ty Cobb was asked why he couldn’t hit home runs like the babe. He went out and hit 2 or 3 and said I can do it but the base pads is what brings the fans in to see me.
LSU needs an identity that they can preform on the field.

I’m paraphrasing cobbs words. You get the point. In today’s game what’s LSU identity?

I can't figure out if you're a new Mom or an Old Grandmother!

Gamblers aren't the only people in the world that take risk. I would venture to say, the top 1% of income earners in the world are risk takers! Taking risk versus betting on black are not the same. It's not like the AD picks Coaches out of a sack full of random names. Well, I mean...Not anymore!

We hosted and won a regional and hosted and lost a Super. Overall that’s a good season.

No it’s not! In what world as an LSU fan is making and then getting swept in a Super Regional (AT HOME) to a team that was one of the last teams in is a good season?

quote:

Over the course of the year there were some very disappointing loses

Yes, like getting swept at Texas who didn’t make their conference tournament and we walked like 15 people in 18 innings. Like having a losing record in Tuesday ballgames and having a losing record against all other Louisiana teams. Like getting beat 12-1 by Louisiana fricking Tech. Or getting beat 7-2 by fricking SOUTHERN. I bet if you take away one Tuesday ballgame, we averaged like 4 runs a game on Tuesdays. That’s on fricking coaching you jackass.

quote:

there were times the team did not look interested

THAT’S ON COACHING TOO HOU frickING BITCH. Wanna know my theory as to why the players didn’t look interested? Because sweet lips wasn’t interested. Wanna know how I know sweet lips wasn’t interested? Because every time they panned to his arse in the dugout, he had a blank stare on his face! He looked like he’d have rather been anywhere else but the dugout.

quote:

there were also injuries to multiple starting pitchers that we were counting on.

That’s multiple years now that that’s happened. That’s on coaching too. Either Alan Dunn is bad at his job of keeping pitchers healthy and sweet lips isn’t making sure of that or they’re recruiting guys with known problems. Is it injuries that are keeping us from having lefties in the rotation?

quote:

Ultimately it was a good but unsatisfying season

No, it was not a good season, it was not an acceptable season and if you believe that then you are a fricking loser.

I didn’t read all of your post but we got humiliated by la tech that’s enough. Now losing 5-4 or 7-5 whatever but 12-2 or 1 that’s bad.
