From Fletch, so take with grain of salt:

quote:

NBA source (who I trust a lot) told me tonight he thinks Boston is landing spot for Anthony Davis.

Says Tatum is player NOLA covets most.

Tatum, Smart (who @PelicansNBA also really like), filler (Williams, Ojeyele or Yabusele) & at least pick #14 this year.

He’s been right. I like Tatum, but kinda wanted Ingram and Ball + 4

A Boston package without Brown or the Mem pick would be trash

Boston offering everything but Brown and Memphis pick makes a lot of sense as their offer. It gives Ainge enough leftovers to at least go after someone like Beal to try and keep AD in town. The Pels liking that package the most is another question entirely. But yesterday was "We love the Lakers stuff" which is likely aimed at Boston and NY. Now it's "We love the Celtics stuff" which says LA and NY need to step it up.

I can deal with not ending up with Brown, but I think we should get the Memphis pick. I also want to have a pick to unload Hill to make room for a FA.

Brown is going to be too expensive unfortunately. Someone will pay him 20ish or a max offer sheet and I doubt the Pels want that.

Much as I'd like all of their assets, it may be best to leave Brown. What if he isn't keen on being at best the 4th chair? Tatum can come in and be a primary option on offense, given that Jrue likes being a secondary option anyway. And Zion would need time before we want him shouldering a heavy load.

It would be Zion and Tatum leading the charge long term. I've never given up on him. I love his potential.

...but at the end of the day, give me talent on top of talent. I'd rather take Brown too.

But could y’all imagine the meltdown from the national media and Lakers twitter if we took a deal like this

Believe nothing until the deal is done. It’s all posturing by every side.

But this is VERY encouraging if true. Hopefully the next rumors are Knicks and Lakers offering more.

If Ainge budges and puts Memphis on the table I’m in. It’s over.

Feel the same way, I’d prefer Brown and the Grizz pick but, no deal if they both out. Tatum regressed this year so Ainge can’t pull that crap. I’d just roll with some Barrett, Robinson and Mavs/knicks picks then and Ainge can have fun with the fans and that mess when Kyrie jumps ship to join him...

This is the NBA where a single player makes a huge difference.

And I am of the opinion that Tatum is far and way the best player we can receive from the likely teams. All of the talk of him vs Ingram was complete hogwash.

Once C’s put Memphis on the table it’s over.

Probably in the minority but I like Tatum and Smart more than anything else hypothesized. But Memphis pick or Brown has to be part of it.

I know I’ve been championing the Lakers deal pretty hard, but I’d still rather a deal centered around Tatum. I’m fine with Smart and no Brown, but I want that Memphis pick (I don’t care too much about 14 this year).
