Multiple NBA teams have had conversations about phasing the term "owner". At least two teams have already made the switch.
The issue gained momentum in 2018 when Draymond Green argued against the term on LeBron James' television show "The Shop."
"You shouldn't say owner," Green said.
Green suggested the title be changed to CEO, Chairman or Majority Shareholder.
"We refer to the owners of our teams as Governors; each team is represented on our Board of Governors," said the NBA in a statement to TMZ.

Until more black people start owning teams. I'm black and if I owned a team, you damn right I want to be called owner.

I think "possessor" is a better alternative

We should call teams plantations and players slaves.

I guess that rules out referring to player contracts as agreements of indentured servitude?

Liberalism has made most of Black America infantile.

Are some of these players so self absorbed, so into their own feels and the smell of their own anus and shite, that they think the term owner was not invented until the 1800s in the USA to talk about African slave owners?
I would honestly like to sit down over a beer, or glass of wine for LeBron and Draymond, and discuss this so I can hear them in a private conversation and see what they truly think

Instead of calling the owners “owners”, let’s cal them something else that is equivalent to owner! That’ll show them!
What’s the point in this?

You have to admit it's pretty awkward when a black man refers to the principal in charge as "my owner" like Antonio Gates when he said "My relationship with my owner has been phenomenal."
