I like how pissy this makes people on here. Like it means anything to your life either way. Nobody on here is an NBA player or "Owner", so why does anyone here give a damn?

"Honey, what's wrong? Why aren't you eating your stroganoff?? Talk to me! Please! Tell me!"

"God damnit, woman! The NBA is calling owners "Governors" now. How can you eat at a time like this?!? "

well no offense but I'm going to trust the feelings of the highly educated and smart black dudes on their perceptions over the term rather than some white baw from Louisiana

"owner" in the context of the NBA just has a bad vibe. not a big deal to change it to something more culturally appropriate

What context is that exactly? The owner owns the organization, not the team. Any inferences to the contrary are simply incorrect.

You can literally apply this to any enterprise that is owned by someone.

Frankly, anyone who believes in the principles behind free speech should be troubled by this.

There’s really no difference between forcing the usage of imaginary gender pronouns and this.

no one is saying they can't use the word, it's just that they are moving to a more culturally appropriate term

considering our history, no one should have an issue with this.

What is the first word that comes to mind when trying to describe someone who has possession of something?

Mr Perfect functions as sort of a litmus test. If you find yourself wondering if your stance on something is ridiculously stupid, just ask if he’d agree with it and if so, then yes; yes it is.

Here’s hoping he is just an elaborate troll.

Can you even tell me Draymond's major, without googling?

Are you even sure he graduated?

1.) This is racist as hell from you

2.) People getting their knickers in a twist over the benign terminology of "team owner" is stupid as hell

3.) Not that one's ethnicity should matter, but I'm an educated black dude not from Louisiana. Something tells me you'll find some other excuse to continue down the primrose path, though.

Why is the term “owner” culturally inappropriate decades after the civil rights movement?

Like I said early, if calling a person who owns an NBA franchise an owner is problematic for whatever reason, that reason is applicable in all situations where you’d call someone an owner if people are in anyway associated with the thing that is owned.

We'd have to eliminate the word. We'll just say "person in legal and permanent possession of."

Much better.

Or “Majority Shareholder”.

Because replacing a term with another term with more syllables completely changes the meaning apparently.

I’m going to call them owners simply in hopes to piss someone off. Fact is, if this makes you upset it’s an obvious sign you’re an idiot.
