Got a ticket this morning.

On my way to work in Slidell, state trooper pulled me over for no seat belt, gave me a ticket. Asked the trooper where to pay it, he said Slidell city court. No big deal. Called Slidell city court to find out how much and the dispatcher, clerk or whatever didn’t know how much the fine is for a seat belt violation, because the ticket takes up to 3 weeks to get into the system. Wtf, I just want to pay the GD ticket and be done with it. According to Google its 25 bucks. Is that right?

I mean, 3 weeks is bad. However, you can't expect the ticket to be fully processed into their systems within the same business day.

Depends on Parish but no matter the Parish, you can't pay until it's been processed.... next time try to pay it during the traffic stop.

I’m pretty sure seatbelt tickets have gone up. I think they are $100 or so now for the first one, and second and third go up exponentially. Could be wrong but I’m pretty sure they are more than $25 these days.

Thanks for reminding me. I wear mine most of the time, but on very few occasions I have removed it to do something and forgot to put it back on. Since I'm traveling this weekend...I'll remember so I don't contribute to the Local Troops overtime fund.

The clerk I spoke with over at Slidell City Court said the fine isn’t that much, but she couldn’t give me an exact amount. The whole time I’m on the phone with her, I’m thinking you work for the city court and you don’t even know how much the fine is?! Wtf!

Lucky for you I run a service that takes care of that for you.
You send me $125 and in 3 weeks I will pay the fine for you.

If it's not in the system yet, why does it matter how much it is?
