Bruh. Mort has a 25 year career. Pump the breaks a bit.

I like Lutz, and think he’ll be solid for a long time.. But Morten is enshrined in Canton, so... maybe not *every* conceivable metric.

Litz has surpassed anderson by most every metric, but it is also a little bit of a fools errand to compare, because kickers are alot better overall than they used to be. Kickers should be compared to similar kickers of their time. And in that comparison, anderson surpasses lutz

You must be too young to have watched the Saints during Morten's tenure but, the Saints offense was for most of his tenure, straight up atrocious. They would be lucky to get to the 40 yard line and then they would trot Morten out to attempt long field goals. He was the scoring offense and a lot of fans favorite player (contrary to what Hebert wants people to believe with his radio show). There is a reason Morten is still the leading scorer in team history even though he has been gone for 25 years.

Also, you can't compare field goal percentages and metrics with other guys because he attempted far more long field goals then most guys on a regular basis.

Edit: I just Re-read your last sentence and realize for the most part we are on the same page. My argument is still valid against those that think Lutz is better so I'm not going to delete it.

Lutz is superior to Morten in every conceivable metric. Morten also missed as many big kicks as Garrett Hartley did - our perceptions of what a great kicker is have changed dramatically since Andersen was a Saint.

Oh my god, SO bad...

Run, Run, Pass... if, on 4th down, we were on the opponent's side of the 50, long FG try for Mort, if not, punt.

That's pretty much it.

This only makes sense if you're 10 and refuse to acknowledge things that happened before you were born

I guess the HOF's perceptions are wrong as well and only a troll on a message board is correct.

I mean, you guys do know that statistically, he is right?

However Kickers have changed so much over the past 30 years that you have to put them in context.

Stop it.

Will Lutz is probably the best kicker in Saints history.

I really hope he makes it in the NFL but he is wasting his time with the Saints.
