I grew up in a small community near Jasper. If someone didn't know where it was and I started explaining, inevitably they'd ask, is that near Jasper where they killed that guy?

Yes...

King and two other white men were convicted of murdering Byrd in the early morning hours of June 7, 1998. They beat Byrd, 49, chained him to the back of a pickup truck and dragged him for three miles down a logging road in Japser County, tearing his body apart.

Anybody who does this, for no reason, to somebody else should get the death penalty.
The term "hate crime" is stupid as frick.

The level of hate required to do something so savage to someone I can comprehend by thinking of what I would be capable of if someone harmed my child or mother or father or wife. What I can’t comprehend is getting to that level of hate just over the color of someone’s skin.

As I get older I get more uncomfortable with allowing government to execute citizens.

I haven't reached that age yet, there are animals among us, many that are just evil and violent and will never fit in civilized society

i don't

and because the appeals process is a joke, and it takes decades to finally die, no one is afraid of prison or a death sentence.

Usually they spend their living days on death row, never feeling the executioners axe

Welcome to our justice system. It’s cheaper to give someone a life sentence than to kill them. Also we apparently have to use expensive arse medicine now so that we don’t kill them inhumanly.

Anybody know if this subhuman is being buried? If so, please let us know where so I can pay his gravesite a visit so I can piss and shite on it. I’m about 4 hours away from Jasper.

Sure, when you completely misrepresent what happened.

There was a reason. It was because he was black.

The one thing the Feds did efficiently was to execute Timothy McVey. I thought Texas was swift, too. But I am wrong.
It's shitheads like this Texas guy that only makes race relations worse and anyone who condones him or secretly claps for him and what he did is also worthless. You do realize it is a dickhead that would do this is just as liable to turn on someone like his own friends at a snap of a finger.
Definitely a good riddance.

And just think...Bernie Sanders wants people like this to be able to vote while they are in prison.

Justice was served. Hopefully Mr. Byrd's family will find some comfort in knowing his killer has paid his debt to society.
