Was mentioned Alleva was directed to remove himself from this situation and let others handle it but I don’t buy it.
So you don't trust your source huh?
Awesome thanks for wasting our time

not roasting him at all. I appreciate the info (if correct) as well. Just easy to be skeptical and a little follow up would be nice is all
Absolutely understand the skepticism.
I didn’t want to post anything until I actually spoke to the gentleman this evening.

I trust the guy. However, I do not trust the administration to be competent and handle it that way.

It's ok to say this thread didn't go as planned, I'd respect your honesty at this point more than the digging your doing.

Who's "losing their shite"? I see a bunch of people (me included) venting their frustrations on a message board. I think that's perfectly normal and healthy.

Sounds to me like we don't know for sure if it's gone according to plan until tomorrow or Friday.
Kudos to you for showing back up. Hope your information turns out to be true.

2 BOR members met w/ Wade.
This small part right here is what makes this very unbelievable.
Board of Regents has NO role in the management or administration of the state’s universities. And they definitely have nothing to do with athletics. Overall they are a very pointless and bureaucratic agency/board. But they would have no say so or part in all of this.
Is it possible that someone like Collis Temple III, who coincidentally serves on the BOR, was in the meeting? Sure. But it would be because of his LSU basketball connections more than because of being on BOR.

LSU will want some statement from Wade that exonerates Alleva and FKING.

Seriously, what do they do? Looking at the website, it appears some research data and like try get involved in the Legislature?

That can be done.
And after this situation ends, let's hope a deal can be reached to get rid of Alleva by paying his buyout. He can't leave LSU soon enough.

Uh...F King is “LSU” and I don’t see some statement coming that “exonerates” him from a wrong-doing that hasn’t been presented.
I agree that the dumbasses f king and alleva should be fired, but your wish ain’t happening.

Good question. The answer is not much of anything. Their main function is they funnel the state budget money to the various university systems. All of the main higher ed budget goes through BOR, who has a funding formula for how the money is divvied up among the systems and campuses.
Aside from that, they do, do some research to help drive higher ed policy.
As for getting involved with the legislature, they certainly have a presence. But I can assure you that the individual systems and campuses are way more effective at lobbying the legislature on their own behalf and hold way more influence than BOR.
Trust me, BOR is a joke to the 4 university systems, whom have no respect for BOR or their role in higher ed. And yes, I know this first hand.

you don’t suspend on “smelly” content alone KNOWING that this “tape” had MUCH bigger fish with much worse incriminating evidence. The Feds aren’t investigating them nor are the investigating Wade. Smartly, those universities are holding pat to see how it plays out because they are likely not in the same position for sanctions from a compliance perspective towards institutional control.
This is a calculated reaction to use Wade as an example of “institutional control” in an effort to demonstrate to the NCAA some semblance of proactive compliance to avoid potentially MUCH deeper compliance issues that are lurking with the OLOL discoveries in OCTOBER last year. Wade put himself in that position for suspension which the university was excited to oblige to get them out of a crack. IMO - this is about football ie your biggest cash cow. A ban on football is devastating from a budget perspective not only to the athletics support for other non-revenue generating sports, but to academics with the millions that athletics gives back.
It was reported that Wade had met with two different field agents with the FBI. Are you suggesting that one of the FBI agents is investigating the OLOL situation and the other FBI agent contacted him about the Dawkins trial?

Yahoo's Dan Wetzel, Pat Forde & Pete Thamel
"FBI agents were in Baton Rouge investigating LSU coach Will Wade’s recruiting tactics, according to a report from Yahoo Sports. According to the report, one of the agents was a Louisiana-based FBI agent active in Baton Rouge the week following his suspension, conducting in-person work regarding Wade.
Yahoo also reports that the FBI’s increased attention into Wade’s recruiting tactics “could signal an expansion in the federal basketball corruption case.”
This is what I thought he was referring to because you have a Louisiana-based FBI Agent who is "active in Baton Rouge" and they also made a point of saying other FBI agents flew in town to meet with Wade.
Based on tiger1988's previous posts it sounded like he was suggesting the local FBI agents are investigating the OLOL issue and the other FBI agents were looking at the Dawkins issue. The weirdly worded language in the Yahoo article "could signal an expansion in the federal basketball investigation".

Will say one thing, was told that Dale Brown was asked about his thoughts on situation. Was asked about what damage he thinks has been done and what damage would be done if wade reinstated or not reinstated! Was a person very much involved in basketball operations. Was told Dale told person of interest they should reinstate Wade. He said NCAA is a joke. Also said he had many issues with NCAA and if you stand up to them they will back off but if you show you chicken shite , you will be made an example of. FWIW! Not sure what it all means if anything. So this Temple news may be real deal. Temple and Brown have a lot of pull at university. Down vote away, just wanted to pass this on. Actually heard this yesterday nothing today.

Your tone has made a 180 from your "slam dunk" original post.
Thanks for the shaking things up around here for a little bit I guess
