Feds motion to bar Miller, Wade testimoney at trial
quote:

In a motion filed by U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman on Friday, his office asked U.S. District Court Judge Edgardo Ramos to preclude the defendants from "offering evidence that they had relationships with other coaches who they did not bribe" and "from putting the NCAA and the NCAA's rules on amateurism on trial."

quote:

"The defendants are on trial for serious federal crimes, and the defendants should not be able to use this trial as a referendum on the merits of the NCAA's rules or the state of college basketball, in an impermissible effort to garner sympathy with the jury."

quote:

The government also argued in its motion that the defendants' plan to illicit testimony from Miller and Wade that Dawkins didn't bribe them

All you idiots that think the FBI was actually investigating CWW need to read this. It’s happening baws, we are gonna get our coach back.

Well I think it’s to say that coaches weren’t bribed but in agreement with the process, IMO.

What's really disturbing is those jackbooted fascists want to prevent the defendants from introducing exculpatory evidence.

This is why I said yesterday the timing of the FBI being in town and Wade suddenly willing to sit down with LSU brass could be viewed as a positive development. I was downvoted because folks didn’t understand the point. The FBI probably left Wade in a relatively comfortable if not untouchable position when it comes to Alleva, King and LSU. Let’s hope.

It was an article that got him suspended and it should be an article that gets the suspension lifted.

That’s a good point. Not how I originally read it.

I cannot comment at this time on various media reports, except to say that they do not begin to tell the full story. I understand the University had to take action before all the facts are in, but I would ask everyone to withhold their judgment until the record is complete.

Interesting. So that’s what on the tapes?

The FBI has bitten off way more than they can chew here. Honest to God, what did they think would happen when they opened this can of worms? This shows the level of forward thinking that exists in Washington these days.

Sad that Joe Alleva threw away a great season and a chance to go deep into the NCAA tournament without knowing all of the facts.

Exactly. We don’t know what is on the tapes as they are not public. It is stupid to suspend based on these tapes. It is ludicrous to think that Wade didn’t tell his boss the same thing as his public comment. In the end the main embarrassment is just as likely to be caused by school leadership as it is to be caused by wade.

Looks like Dickie needs to make an apology to General Wade.

It’s easy to make out the tapes to be totally negative without actually hearing them in their entirety.
That’s what the media does. They take snippets and form a narrative to suit their agenda.
Until we hear everything this is nothing.
Those LSU fans that want WW to stay, me included, want him exonerated, other fans (or pretend fans) for whatever reason have already assumed his guilt.

Holy shitz if LSU suspended WW and all this was over the defense trying to bring Wade in to testify that he didn't offer illegal benefits and that Dawkins didn't bribe them!!!
