What's the board's thoughts on Modern Family

I used to love the show. Watched every week. Now all the characters just seem so pretentious. Almost like caricatures of themselves. Just can't watch it anymore.

It’s definitely going downhill. Although, last nights episode was funnier than most in recent memory.

Early seasons were amazing. Haven’t watched in 2-3 years because I think it started to go downhill

First 3 seasons were great. After that, they had 2-3 episodes every year that would remind how good it could be, but they were sandwiched around a bunch of meh. Last couple seasons before this one were awful. They whiffed horribly with the child actors - the two that play Manny and Luke make already unlikable characters some of the worst in the history of tv.
The episode where the kids walk in on Phil and Claire having morning sex is hands down the best of the series.

Unfortunately this happens with most long-running shows, especially comedies.
The OG Clyde Bidgsby and Juliana episode is absolute gold.

Lilly may be the worst " actress" in tv history..
I still watch it though but it was much better when the kids were all younger.

No almost about it. It's been that way for a couple of years. They've lost all nuance (especially the kids) and are now stock cliches shouting lines and making faces.

One of the best sitcoms ever its first few seasons and gone downhill.

I stopped watching a couple years ago. The show was better when the kids were young. Luke was a better child actor.

It was great the first 3 or so years, has been pretty meh since then. The kids growing up ruined it, and should have been dropped.

Exactly this.
But every time I watch it I end up staring at Gloria's cans and then googling the fappening pics of Haley, and well, you can guess where that goes.
So, what I'm trying to say is, I still watch it.

honestly had no idea it was still on. watched the first season or so. was alright. never really gave AF. though i'm sure i would still love to take Carol Vessey to downtown pound town.

Good start and its really bad now. The kids grew up into no talent hams, its overly preachy, and out of ideas. Was funny the first couple of years though.

I've liked Cam's character more the last few years than in the early season.
It's about time to put it out to pasture though. They need a good couple of episodes to wrap up some of the stories, and move on.
