Both King Alexander and Joe Alleva were hired during the Jindal Administration. The new leadership at the Board of Supervisors has inherited this problem. They now must act quickly to remove Alexander and Alleva. This should be followed by the appointment of a strong interim LSU President and interim LSU Athletic Director not interested in a permanent position and the hiring of proven Flagship quality leaders through a national search.

Interesting angle. I completely forgot that both Alexander and Alleva were appointed by the dumpster fire known as the Jindal Administration. Just another reason to can those clowns

I 100% blame Jindals BOS for the hiring of Fking and Alleva but do we honestly want this frick stick Williams hiring the next President and AD?

It’s just a shite cycle over and over agin until we get a competent Governor who can appoint strong competent leaders. Leaders that actually have ties with LSU and consider its best interests.

The latest example of Alexander's lack of leadership was the bizarre Alexander and Alleva joint official press release stating that holding out basketball player Javonte Smart “does not suggest, in any way wrongdoing”. Then what does it suggest? Why was it done? Clearly these folks are not ready to handle public relations for a high school, much less a internationally known Flagship. Sadly, there has just been so much more, and it’s time to end it now. In sports alone we have seen the disastrous leaked courting of Jimbo Fisher followed by the joint Alexander/Alleva bizarre 3rd quarter "unfiring" of Les Miles, the embarrassing Tom Herman football offer debacle, unnecessary and costly extensions and raises to several underperforming coaches and so much more. The incompetence has lead to dissatisfaction from major sports and academic donors that has severely affected fundraising. Only a few years ago LSU chancellor O' Keefe raised 786 million on behalf of LSU. The current leadership has reduced that to a relative trickle.

Seems like he is using this situation, which he clearly does not have a firm grasp on, to throw shade at politicians

Laws need to be changed to get corrupt dirty-arse Louisiana politics away from LSU. Otherwise this shite is just going to keep happening.

Have alumni and the University select the President and BOS members.

He is spot on. The bottom line is that LSU’s current administration is not dedicated to winning. Mark Emmert recognized that having a strong athletic department is a big positive for the university as a whole. Alexander does not feel the same, he’s basically said as much on more than one occasion.

This is exactly what we need. Lipsey is a huge player in LA business & politics. Hopefully others follow suit, it's honestly the only way I see King & Alleva being shown the door. Money talks.

That's a good start. Then they should remove themselves.

Too many "political appointments", which usually means "thanks for the campaign contributions". Nothing that actually qualifies these clowns to be running a university.

The problem isn’t solely Jindal or JB Edwards, it’s both. As soon as people start blaming one or the other, then people from that side of the political aisle rush in the defend them.

The problem is both of them. Jindal’s sencond term was a disaster for LSU. John Bel’s term and appointments have compounded those problems.

LSU is approaching a decade with rotten leadership throughout the institution.

All part of the BOS plan.
Dem's want their people in place.
We need change, I hope it's for the good.

Lesson regarding LSU, firing coached etc, doesn't necessarily mean better.

A few days ago, I said Richard Lipsey would have a field day with this. He has not appreciated the direction LSU has been led. The holistic admissions debacle was the last straw. Jindal appointed this team because they would do his bidding and not rock the boat. They were not chosen because they were the best available. He harmed LSU's reputation as a place for leaders by running off talented people and needlessly cutting budgets. It took 20 years to rebuild LSU from the dark days of the 80's, and it will take another generation of leaders to put the school back to the path it was on before Jindal derailed the school.
