810k is what they know about, no telling how much was really embezzled.

This is not a problem unless their is a direct paper trail to athletes which their cannot be.

Just like the basketball problem. There still has to be a "there" there and some type evidence.

Enjoy the basketball game tomorrow and stop falling for this Chicken Little sky is falling stuff.

Good. Bring the program to its knees.

LSU said in their statement today there were two things that linked this to LSU. One job and one nothing.

Not sure what the melt is.

This. Some of these doom and gloom comments in this thread are laughable.

ding ding ding. It sure looks like that's a possibility....[/quote]

$800,000 can buy a lot of gift cards. Unless he has a boatload of nieces and nephews he gifted, we're in a lot of trouble.

I dont buy LSU's response. They've kept this from the public since last year which is pretty f-ing bad. It involves a children's hospital charity and a public university and King and Aleva didnt disclose this until now?! If they've been this shady this far, their response today has little weight.

There’s no shoe to drop. This is it. There’s no greater conspiracy. No hidden NCAA violations.

This isn’t the top of the iceberg. There is no iceberg.

So who are the gift cards for?

Why didnt LSU disclose this earlier?

Why did the feds get involved?

Why isn't there any showing of where this money was spent by the embezzler?

Why hasn't the embezzler been arrested?

That's why gift cards were used. Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth. No paper trail. Better hope they didnt record who got what and theres no emails.

Maybe the BOS stuck their noses in the Wade stuff because they're pissed about the OLOL scandal and no longer trust Aleva and King. They've known about this since last year. I wouldn't be surprised life frick and frack'a days are limited.

Can someone explain to me 1) boosters gave money to this “fund” but how is it known that the money taken was used for “gift cards, etc” and 2) what does a parent getting a job have to do with anything? I’m picturing an athletes mom who is a nurse or whatever who applied for a job. Does that mean no parent of an athlete can work at places that are tied LSU?

I truly don’t understand.

That’s why I’m asking —where is an athletes parent supposed to work if it can’t be LSU related? Do we know what type position this person had?

Can someone please tell me what OLOL stands for?

I’m not understanding what this thread is about.

TIA

The Feds are involved because the sisters over at OLOL brought JPF's alleged fraud to light, and they ain't playing ball like you or I would.

If I gave 100k a year to OLOL Foundation or other non-profit to be a big tymer around town, receiving a tax benefit, and knowing that I was also helping LSU recruit and maintain a winning program, honestly i can't say I wouldn't stroke the check if I had the means to do so.

Being an OT Baller, maybe I even did.

And here I thought Orgeron would be the downfall of LSU football

He might be the only mother fricker that wants to coach at LSU after this
We all thought Alleva was dumb for that hire. Turns out, he was ahead of the game.

neither? Did it not say 2012-2015 in the article, or did I read it wrong?
