Can someone explain the implications of this scandal and the relevance it has to athletics. Also it said this was reported in 2018, why should I care about this?

To sum it up.

Lack of Institutional Control

Every BOS member F King and Alleva will be fired if this all is true

Why is he suspended again?

So what's the suspicion here?

That backers were donating to OLOL so that Funes could funnel it to players and their families in the form of gift cards, paying bills, private flights, and jobs?

ding ding ding. It sure looks like that's a possibility.

Except none of that was stated and seems to be not implicated.

LSU said in their statement today there were two things that linked this to LSU. One job and one nothing.

Not sure what the melt is.

What's gunna make this a HUGE deal is the tax benefits they donors received in the process. That's fraud and federal and a bunch of other not so awesome things.

Imagine if you are JPF. If the Feds wanna play hardball, and IF this is really all connected, he's gunna sing like a bird. I wouldn't blame him if I was looking at serious time for a scheme thats likely been going on for decades before he got there.

I'm pretty sure every university has schemes to fund their athletic programs; ours may very well have been exposed at such a raw level that has never happened before.

It’s a win for this university if our BOS pres and Ad are wiped clean from this school. I’ll take 5 years of sanctions to get rid of these idiots.

They basically just figured out how we’ve been paying players.

Julio Melara is a former HS classmate and friend of mine. Class guy.
I’ll find out what player it was and also try to find out why in the hell this had to be released like this.

So it's cool that LSU not comment because of an ongoing legal matter, but Wade MUST speak now.

Joe Alleva helped tarnish Duke's image and has totally ruined LSUs. He needs to resign immediately.

Well it's only one of the ways we pay them if we're being honest. OLOL is one of many in Louisiana and Baton Rouge.

Not trying to use the “what about everyone else” Defense, but god damn, getting parents jobs is a normal thing.
Forget Tua’s whole family moving from Hawaii to Alabama on Jonah Williams Dad’s dime and Zion Williams’ family’s job and home. This is a normal operating procedure.
Les Miles had my buddy set up with a new plant job when his son was being recruited, Mr Leonard F left the SWB of NO for a better job.
This is a rabbit hole I don’t think the NCAA better honk long and hard about. Personally, I pray that LSU grows some balls and blows the NCAA up.

This is so much bigger than Wade and O. These are big time business leaders and probably politicians. There’s got to be some serious Team Sweep work going on behind the scenes.
