Curious if this could be simple as explaining "offer" meant scholarship or simply playing time?

If this were simply the case, then what would this "offer" have to do with his mother?

Staying in your hometown could have great benefits for his mother and child.

There is nothing concrete (from what we’ve heard) that PROVES we cheated. It doesn’t look good, but deny and make them eat shite.

That her son would be in the hands of a great program and his NBA stock (earned at LSU and WW connections)would guarantee a future for their family.

Moms control everything, especially in the african american community. Regardless of money or not.

"In another call between #LSU's Will Wade and Christian Dawkins, "Wade joked that the player, believed to be Javonte Smart, would be compensated more than the 'rookie minimum.'""

This story has been updated with additional details from an ESPN report

I understand that, and I agree that right now everything they have (at least what we have heard) is circumstantial at best. I pray at the end of all this CWW and LSU BB doesn't suffer long term, but it just doesn't look good at this point.

I offered my honor, she honored my offer, and all night it was on her and off her

I don't understand why if there is no proof that money changed hands, that "talking about it" is illegal/against NCAA. I don't get the ins and outs -- I'm just a girl who love LSU athletics.

LSU just needs to hold their ground and not cave to media pressure. I’m positive rules were broken but if it can’t be proven then it didn’t happen.

I'm afraid his mistake is taking the calls directly. Otherwise, what he allegedly talked about is no different than what KU has been caught doing on at least a handful of recruits lately.

Not saying this happened, but just so we’re clear, an offer of money is a violation even if payment is never made. However it’s almost impossible to prove without a paper trail.
