500 million to 1 billion will hardly be noticed size wise to a refinery.

Nothing that would cause cancer. No aromatic compounds, like benzene, used in the process. Most of the emission will be from combustion of mostly natural gas which is used to run the site.... produce steam, which comes out of steam stacks which you also probably think causes cancer. It’s misinformed, igonorant, obtuse information like what your spreading that are detrimental to the growth of our economy. Do some research or keep your mouth shut.

Ranking 44th in the country. Yeah, wave that flag for the turtle.

And FYI, the ExxonMobil Chemicals President getting what amounted to an “I don’t give a shite” from JBE, along with his acrewing around with ITEP were major factors in removing LA from contention for the $7-8 BILLION grassroots plant that recently went to Corpus. Where the company had no presence nor existing infrastructure.

No you’re not. You are talking out of your arse, apparently a specialty of yours. Plastics plants are very low emitters, with virtually no toxics involved in the process. If you’re worried, quit drinking bottled water that these plastics go into.

I guess this just means that even without ITEP, what they can get away with in Louisiana is worth way more to them.

I mean we have already been saving them tens of millions of dollars a year in property tax. Even if we went through and pulled 25% of their tax breaks, we'd still be saving them tens of millions a year in property tax.

Of course they will complain and threaten, but they (O/G lobbiests/politicians in their pocket) aren't going to go somewhere where they will make less of a profit just to prove a point. It's a business

There’s so much stupid in this thread, it’s killing me. They’re going to look at all factors and make the best business decision. They know any facility that they build is going to be here much longer than JBE or ITEP exemptions. The project that we’re talking about DID receive the full ITEP benefit as was voted on by the metro council and school board in 2018.

Ask yourself, if you were investing billions of dollars into your business, would you make that investment in LA or TX. If you get that one wrong, then there’s nothing I can do to help you. ITEP was something LA used to help level the playing field. If all things are equal, TX beats LA every time. More politically friendly, stronger work force, more stable/less corrupt, thriving economy, good public school system to attract employees from around the world, and no state income tax.

And anybody who believes the freakin EBR school board has the knowledge, experience & credibility to make decisions regarding multibillion global companies is a bigger fool.
The cannot teach, but we let them decide on this.

All that BS about the ITEP and they had a huge expansion planned. They could afford a few tax dollars
.

Don't get it twisted, Baton Rouge without ExxonMobil, DOW, and LSU is Gonzales at best

You have no idea how clean those processes are. The limits of what they can flare, how they have to monitor and report them are night and day from 30 years ago.

Most of what you see going into the air is steam.

Are you kidding me, those plants spew so much Dihydrogen monoxide it's insane. If you try and breath Dihydrogen Monoxide, you die.
All the white smoke, Dihydrogen monoxide vapors.

They got more tax breaks in Corpus than a program like ITEP could even grant. That project was never coming here.

I have no desire to stick it to Exxon, but all this fuss as if LA is/could be an option for every dollar is asinine.
