you do realize it's a joke, right?
Maybe Speedy's comment, but I doubt all of this was one giant sarcasm thread.

Exxon got full ITEP on this project. It was a significant factor in the decision. That and Houston’s continuing air quality issues that we’ve fixed here that complicate permitting.

This in no way is indicative of future investment decisions. Texas continues to be the front runner, and the Fall elections, especially for Governor, will be telling.

This is 100% accurate and the most important post in this thread. EM received full ITEP for the PO expansion in late 2018 with approval from the Metro Council, Sheriff, and School Board.

This is good news for BR

And for the surrounding area, with the construction jobs.

So I'm guessing no one consulted with the tax experts / Biz & Industry killas at Together BR?

This project has been planned since wayyyyy before the school board voted to reject Exxon's tax breaks, the news is just going public now.

Yep, I’ve been working on it for 9 months at least and a lot of work was done before my portion.

BR needs to quit sucking it’s own dick. This could have been many multiple times bigger if they could get out of their own way.

I guess this just means that even without ITEP, what they can get away with in Louisiana is worth way more to them.
but......IB Freenuts said our current guvner is going to run Exxon to BayTown. EM don't give a shite who the guvner is - they just wanna make $$$$$$$ - that is why it is a very good stock buy.

It’s a plastics plant. It runs off of ethylene. Your ignorance is apparent.

Years of planning go into these mega projects and they aren't just going to can something like this BRPO Expansion when they are months away from construction beginning.

Yeah, like others have said, this has been decided for years. A project of this magnitude can be shelved, but it can't just relocate on a dime.

But Sentrius told me John Bel Edwards is running industry away?

quote:

Gov. John Bel Edwards issued the following statement on Louisiana’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), $252 billion in the third quarter of 2018, which is the highest on record for the state.

“Louisiana enjoyed another quarter of economic growth, with a GDP that is higher than ever recorded. Continued growth is a sign that our economy is getting stronger and headed in the right direction, still we know there is more work to be done,” Gov. Edwards said. “We remain concerned about the impacts of tariffs on our economy and hope that our farmers and agribusinesses will see some relief soon.”

According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, Louisiana’s real GDP increased by $2.3 billion from $249.7 billion in the second quarter of 2018 to $252 billion in the third quarter of 2018. Since last year, Louisiana’s GDP increased $15.5 billion, from $236.5 billion in the third quarter of 2017 to $252 billion in the third quarter of 2018.

Link?

I’m sure this new plant won’t throw any pollutants into the air.
