New 15 Point Grading Scale to be introduced
The proposed bill would mean higher grades for lower scores by changing the grading scale as follows:
A: 100 to 85 percent
B: 84 to 70 percent
C: 69 to 55 percent
D: 54 to 40 percent
F: Anything below 40 percent
If passed, the new grading scale would go into effect for the 2019-2020 school year.

Kids are stupid and lazy so let's lower the standards so they look smarter. Yayyyy.

Sorry to ruin the jokes:
Editor's Note: This new scale applies to the grades schools receive based on performance. It would not change the scale used to grade students.

Read the details. It’s the school grade, not the scale used for students. Not that that makes it any better.

You need to read further.
Too bad. Maybe you would have benefited from the new scale if applied to kids.

Wife is a teacher. Will have to ask her how the union says she needs to think about this.

You must not have gone to school for engineering.

Ridiculous
At my school in "dumb" Mississippi, 85 was a B- and 84 was a C+. You needed a 93 for A-.

So let's make the shitty schools look better to make it look like the educational system is improving?

Like a $15/hr min wage, why stop at a 15 point scale. why not do a 20 point scale....
Side note: my second physics class in college tried to go with no formula sheets, and everyone derive everything.... final curve was closer to 20 point scale..... my 43% netted me a C
