NPR: Chicago Police Took Resources Away From Real Crimes & Victims To Persecute Smollett

Just a few minutes ago on NPR...
Chicagoans are upset and frustrated that Chicago police diverted critical resources away from real cases and victims to persecute Smollett for an insignificant false claim.
The press conference with Superintendent Eddie Johnson up on stage flanked by dozens of police personnel was a bad look. Why all the personnel? Moreover, the overwhelming majority of people on stage around the Superintendent were white men. The Superintendent’s words describing Smollett and the false claim were over the top, unprofessional, and evidence of overzealous prosecution.
Why would Chicago police spend so much time, resources, and effort on this case involving a gay black man making a false claim given all the other problems they need to work on? The Chicago police has always had a bad relationship with the black community. Their actions with the Smollett case just furthers the problem.
This was about a 5-7 minute story by NPR. Not one mention of MAGA hats or Trump.

There's literally no winning over these people. Every situation is a loaded trap that they'll spin as a negative if it upsets the narrative that this country isn't the third reich

And yet no word about the resources the police used to investigate the crime Smollett reported...

Well see we disagree here because what Jussie did is a "real crime".

Well, the gay black dude said he was assaulted by two white supremicists and was lynched...
Kinda got to follow that up..

Because proving a race crime was faked, probably preventing race crimes from being sparked is totally not important.

resources diverted investigating the claim for it to turn out to be false >>>>> the resources diverted to prosecute the false claim....

No complaints about the efforts to find the actual "attackers" while it was still a live suspected MAGA attack.

insignificant false claim.

Wasn't insignificant when the story first came out.

I'm not. We have been on this path for some time. It's just that now the left has literally no shame in destroying the country. None. They will burn everything down just to say they won. It's real life House of Cards.

Sounds like they should be upset about the false claim that caused the police to divert resources.

One other thing...
They said Smollett staged the attack because he was upset about being underpaid on Empire.

We can't defund NPR quickly enough! If they are a viable news agency, they shouldn't need public money.

Because what Smollett did wasn't a real crime?

It was a national news story at first when it fit the narrative. Chicago PD had no choice but to divert all these resources to it or be accused of ignoring hate crimes. What not is saying here is that they are mad Chicago pd, I've they figured out that Smollett was lying, didn't just let him go and cover it all up
