You ever hear of the SMU slush fund scandal?

Of course, we've all seen the 30 for 30. That's the point, we've HEARD about it. That shite happened 30 years ago. With the digital age and everyone having a platform to heard around the world, how have we not heard about it since then? The SMU situation helps to prove my point. It happened and we've all heard about it. How come we haven't heard about it since? What about the guy that has his offer pulled at the last minute because a longshot 5 star signs? Why doesn't THAT GUY ever speak up?

Major media outlets would pay handsomely for the story about what's going on behind the scenes. How come no one has taken them up on it since SMU?

Don’t need to make excuses for a top 5 class and pulling in 8 of our states top 10 players. No other program in the country did that. We’re building a big beautiful wall around Louisiana. Just not quite finished yet.

I agree, the NCAA is not going to pursue any team that draws large revenue and TV ratings.

That's why they'll wait until Saban retires. It allows them to feign caring, but only after the money train stops.

Play in the championship game every year. It makes recruiting kids who want to win championships much easier.

The idea that Saban, the best recruiter in college football, has to pull shady shite that every other program doesn’t pull to convince a kid to play at Alabama is crazy.

Obviously, they are drawn to his magnetic personality.

We dodged a bullet on Ish. He will be bama's T. Valentine.

Rodney got the shaft and will never get a 4 yr college degree.

In the end , mom looks like a fool.

Both kids become barbers.

He only said in reference to Amite. He is saying the Amite community is looking for extra benefits. I hate say I told y’all so but I did. Told y’all 2 years ago what that area was all about.

Do you really have to be such a miserable person in every football thread?

I’m sure Saban doesn’t get involved in the specifics but if you’re saying there aren’t Bama boosters and bagmen who are doing extremely filthy things then there are only two possibilities for you...

You know better but don’t want to see it, or...

You’re not smart enough to realize it.

this is correct. Saban gets great recruits because he wins championships and puts guys in the NFL. It's that simple.

The "Saban cheats" narrative is childish. If he cheats, did he cheat when he was here? Or did his cheating ways only begin in Tuscaloosa?

And the 6:1 downvote margin for this post is sad.

If the Louisiana prospects are not in by early signing period, they need to know that they may not have a scholly that we will be looking at other players. I think after a few years with this policy it would stop some of the drama queens.

Jax: have you not seen the long list of excuses from this board for our failings compared to Bama? It's pathetic.

Saban cheats
SEC office corruption
Referee bias
Media bias
Bama players are on steroids
The bye week

It isn't crazy. When they somehow convince a top 100 player to take a grey-shirt like they did a few years ago or sign players when they'll literally be 4th or 5th string it goes beyond "being a great recruiter". There's plenty of people on par with Saban in terms of recruiting skill but somehow Bama always comes out on top.

but there's nobody on par with Saban when it comes to winning championships and putting players in the NFL. That's what players are drawn to.

It’s a known fact that Bama pays for players.

“ it’s a known fact that Bama pays for players. “

I have an idea. Rather than having our coaching staff hinting Bama is doing something wrong, why don’t we just beat them. Seems I recall that being a mandatory expectation in the past.

that's what makes all these excuses even more pathetic. We haven't beaten Bama the last 8 games, so instead of just admitting they're better than us, this board concocts all kinds of excuses.

I learned early in my life that when someone beats you (especially 8 games in a row), you don't make excuses - you look in the mirror and GET BETTER.

Many on this board haven't learned that yet. They're too busy saying Bama pays players, the refs cheat, the SEC office is biased, the bye week is bad for us, Bama's players are on steroids, etc, etc, etc.

It's utterly pathetic.
