Building Deer Stands with EZ Brackets

UPDATE on page 2
ChatRabbit and I will be putting some deer stands together tomorrow with these brackets to make the building process super easy:
EZ Bracket
We're open for any suggestions for any additional features. So far here are some main ideas:
1. 6x6 base with a 4x6 box so that the ladder goes to a 2 foot balcony. That way you can walk directly into the box rather than having to take everything off your back and pull yourself into the box directly from the ladder.
2. Mounting a 5 gallon propane tank under the box and running a gas hose into the box with a burner. That way we're not burning through tiny propane bottles and have a permanent heater at each stand. It'll likely just be one single board across the bracing that the tank sits on.
3. The roof will be angled away from the balcony so that water does not drip directly onto the balcony during rain and such. This will hopefully limit ice buildup, although not permanently prevent it, when it's cold.
4. I have a large old rug with an oil stain on it that is going to be cut into sections to be small rugs for each box. I've heard suggestions to not let the sides of the rug go up the walls inside the box or animals will start building nests under it. Noted.
That sums it up for the most part.
Another thing we're wondering is the best way to put the stands into the woods. Our idea so far is to transport just the skeletons of the boxes on a trailer (no plywood walls to avoid creating a wind sail) then put the plywood sides on when we get there. Then we'll haul the boxes out on a trailer with the ATV or tractor (it's a bit sloppy for the truck). When we get to the site to put the stand up we haven't thought of the best way to get them up yet. The EZ bracket luckily has loops on each corner so it's a perfect place to hook a rope or chain so that will likely be where we tether it.
TL;DR - We're building box stands. Give us design suggestions. Tell us the best way to get the boxes up.
Thanks in advance for your time.

Sounds good to me. Updates needed.

I think I'm buying a plastic maverick blind and using those brackets to make a base for it.

Sounds good man.
I just request one for my big arse

I will certainly post some pictures as the process continues. And I'll share my design ideas if it doesn't turn out to be a train wreck.

Yeah y’all post some pics of the finished products

If you have a small generator, bring it and don’t rely on battery powered tools for everything. That’s my one suggestion Bapple...

Those ought to be very nice, but
Good Lord.

We are building at my house in BR and attaching legs to the stand at the camp. All construction will be at my house though so we have plenty of outlets to run stuff through.

10-4 on that. Saw he mentioned adding plywood on site. Even then, bring the generator with the cordless drill. Can run a corded drill too and if you have to cut plywood can run a skilsaw with plenty of juice.

You can get similar brackets at Home Depot for around $90-$100. I don't think they keep them in stock, you have to order them online.
ETA: Just go to their website and search for "elevators".
I was going to build a box stand with them before last season, but things just kept getting in the way.
Gonna start on it soon, to be ready for next season.

The ones on the site are $120 and are purpose-built. I think it’s worth the extra dough.
I can foresee an issue with the bracing though - since the legs go in at an angle the boards will not be able to go flat against them to brace. Not sure exactly how to solve that yet.

I wouldn't build it 4' wide. If looking at multiple lanes with an office chair it will bump into the walls.

I saw those online too. They’re pretty decent but don’t make the corners fit perfectly like these do. I think the design is just a bit better. But I imagine those would also be quite sturdy and work fine - just a little bit of extra work.

The current boxes he purchased last year are 4x6 and they feel huge. Can easily fit two people in them.

Funnel in a corner with a tube that goes underground to pee in.

The only tricky part of those brackets is stabbing the legs in. Tractor with front end loader makes it easy but otherwise it's a bit of a spook ride. I've done many of them with those things and so far only dropped one
