Devil's Advocate: Brandon Ingram is good.

i know this is not enough for AD in and of himself. but i think Brandon Ingram is severely underrated by this board. he's 6'9 with a really good handle for his size, a ton of length and room to grow. 17 pts 5 rebs and 3 assists per game in 33 minutes on 48 percent shooting is super solid. his shooting is down this year, but just last year he averaged 39% from 3 point land. he only makes 7 million per year.
best of all- he's only TWENTY ONE and a half. he's super young and still devloping.

But is he good enough to warrant a max or near max that he will require in a year?

i still think ingram has a chance of being better than ben simmons. and a lot of trades are saying that simmons and flotsam might be better for the pelicans.
ingram is good. lonzo is good (but duplicative of what makes rondo and lebron good). people severely underrate young players as finished projects on this board.
Kuzma has likely capped out his potential. but those other guys are really good young players who could be all stars one day. that day might be three or four years from now, but it still could happen.

Horribly inefficient. His shooting last year was a fluke as it was sandwiched between two terrible years. ISO ball stopper who doesn’t pass and doesn’t defend. Below replacement level player through 3 years. Great athlete though

that ingram has a great handle and isn't afraid to shoot. that ben will never be more than super-sized jason kidd. that ingram will continue to broaden his shoulders and grow into his body and that his overall skill set at some point will be better.
brandon ingram has a chance to be really really special. if lebron hadn't come this year, we'd be talking about him really really differently.

Simmons will never be anything more than a bigger version of a hall of fame player. Thanks, no way I would want that guy on our team now

for those who haven't been watching. look at this smooth pull up game. step backs. at 6'9. he has nice form. good bounce off the dribble. if he expands his range out and keeps improving from 3, he'll be a unicorn like durant.
y'all are sleeping on ingram big time.
