Gotta give props to the OP for recognizing Ingram’s growth potential! Some bad takes in here, which I can tell you I had some doubts as well even if not in this thread.

What Ingram did in buying into Vinson and successfully rebuilding his jump shot and taking such a quick leap in certain aspects was objectively historical and has rarely been done in the history of the league. What I think is crazy still is the guy is just adding wrinkles to his game(off dribble threes and improved PG skills) in shortened off-seasons that take most other players years to develop, if they ever do at all.

y all just remember me the next time I weigh in on your team. I have zero homer glasses. And I watch a TON of basketball.

The last one before this I was right about was being pissed when the pels took hield instead of Murray.

Murray literally JUST hit hields draft age

Gotta say on the Tatum vs. Ingram debate, both turned out to be great so we couldn't have gone wrong with either imo. But I don't think the other pieces of a potential trade for Tatum would have been as good (from what I recall). So in that sense we definitely went the right route.

I can't remember if it was on here or somewhere else but that was my argument for the Lakers trade. I thought Ingram and Tatum would end up comparably similar but thought the proposed secondary assets favored the Lakers package by alot.

Yeah both look to be amongst the top echelon of the next generation of forwards in this league....With Jaylen Brown making a push as well.

I think the debate then centered around what we thought we would get in each respective trade. Who the better player that moment and going forward based on what we had seen was. Tatum was more proven and most people seemed to place the line at wanting both Tatum/Brown, which tbf would have been an incredible get and better than the Lakers trade. But the Lakers sweetened the pot beyond anything we expected(and by all accounts Boston was basically taking Tatum off the table and reluctant on Brown as well) and I think most people were just fine once it was announced.

Nope, and certainly not giving up 2 more role players and the treasure trove of picks either.

Great call on Ingram. I thought the trade was fine, but I never saw THIS level coming from Ingram especially this quickly.

yeah from all accounts, tatum was off limits. Glad I was wrong Ingram's growth became more than just empty stats.

Now if you ask me Jaylen Brown @ 4/106.3mil+Smart+shitton of picks

that's an interesting argument

Brown is someone I really didn’t see blowing up the way he has(assuming he can mostly retain it this season, obviously his insane efficiency should drop a bit) but I think he has firmly put himself into the top 5 of under 25 forwards.

Let’s be honest, if we all could do this who leaves the house?

pshhh. if i love self-fellating, you love watching me do it you voyeur, you.

the amount of times people have zero idea what they're talking about is way more disturbing.

also, i've barely posted on this board in over two years.

also, hi old friend, how are you?

he's still in the league. Good is a relative term that doesn't always mean the same thing.

Signing him for the league minimum was a good enough deal that someone else decided to do it too.

Eh, you make enough hot takes you are gonna get burned eventually.

I would like to find the one person on here that thinks they have a perfect track record? Because no one fricks with just perfect 10’s, everyone has a goblin or two in their armchair portfolios and I’d bet give anyone enough time and motive and they can find anyone’s.

If people are honest there was maybe 1 to 2 people, and not many regular posters, that made this sort of prediction about BI(and a couple posters in particular that I think took about 5 different positions depending on who they were wanting to argue with that day lol), and to be fair people had every right to be skeptical given the way his game had developed to that point.

Not to take anything away from BI, but I’m not sure he ever becomes this player if not for NOLA. Nola, by his own words, seemed to give him space to focus on himself and we all know just how insanely talented Vinson is. It really seemed like a perfect storm for the kid and while I have no doubt seeing how dedicated he is that he would have made us eat our words regardless, I’m not sure he’d be the borderline superstar that had all time levels of efficiency growth if not for the right situation coming together for him.

I remain in my fort on JAH island. I think he will be a meaningful contributor to a team at some point.

But you're also equivocating my idea of saying that "BI is good" and "Jah is good" to mean that they were of equal value.

I said BI was going to be better than Simmons, which puts him at an all star or above level.
For Jah i was saying he might be a contributor and get minutes.
