I remember one of my daughters friends moms came to our house and called us old fashioned and we didn’t trust our daughter enough because we wouldn’t let her go to a party where their were no adult supervision ( she was 16 at the time) ... her daughter got pregnant at that party.... my advice to any dad of a teenage girl is be an a-hole

She thinks you're dumb enough to take that seriously.

This. She is trying to play you for a fool. But in her defense it is probably a learned trait, she has probably seen your wife do it a million times

Teach them to be gentlemen, but not gentle men.

To know the part to play in each scene. For we all wear different masks at times. Teach them to guard themselves, to play it smart in this brave new world. Warn them against the wickedness of women scorned. Teach them to be men that other men and women want to be around.

Unfortunately our hormones drive us to stupidity.

The gods were cruel that hung a man’s weakness between his legs and placed a woman’s strength between hers.

But she will be under my authority and protection, that's all I can do, give her the tools and motivation to make good choices

The perils of fatherhood. Trying to guard her honor in a dishonorable world.

Exactly, we can only show we are still there for them when they make poor choices, but fight like hell all the other times even if you have to disguise it.

I told mine just last night if she happens to get into a situation that is uncomfortable or turning bad just text "help". I will park close by and not make a scene. She can come outside and we can leave. Unless she texts 911 and then I am going all swat mode.

Weird amount of post formatting for a typical "aw hell my daughter might be a slut" post

Yeah. Wife and I have had a lot of hard talks in the last year as the boys get to puberty.

Kavanaugh and Gillette ads have brought up interesting conversations. I want nothing to do with the soy attitude being pushed in the world, but I do want them to be kinder than the world i was brought up in. It’s a fine line between “don’t be a ***sy” and “don’t be an a-hole.”

Always nice to have the enabling parents to frick over all the other parents trying to do the right thing.
