There use to be a block building I think on North street that sold the best tamales called Muffulettas. closing thing I found was Fat Mamas in Natchez Mississippi.

Big Poppa’s in Natchez, in the same building as the Donut Shop, are much better than FM’s.

Are you willing to drive to Lafayette on a Thursday? Cause I know a Lady who makes them and they are delicious. But she only makes them on Thursday.

I enjoy both Fat Mamas and the donut shop. Fat Mamas is more of a family place and the donut shop is grab and go.

My parents would send me there and I’d get a big paper sack full for the family. They were “wet” tamales with a bit of the red sauce.

Mr. Taco on Airline at Barringer Forman has that style and they are very good.

My parents always ride over from the Jackson area to Solly’s in Vicksburg. They are good, but I’ll admit, I’m no tamale connoisseur. They love them, though.

While Solly’s has the name recognition, I find The Tamale Place to be better. Solly’s have been very dry the last few times I’ve had them. Both places have a version of the “tamale supreme”. 3 tamales covered with chili, refried beans, and cheese (you can add jalapeños and onions if you’d like). It’s a glorious concoction.

Solly’s Was always very good. We would grab some when we would go up to hunt in Togo Island. Great memories.

Find you some Honduran/Latin kind and you'll never want that other crap.

Eta....my downvoters clearly have never had amazing tamales.

Best ones came from my grandmother's house.
