I ran a New Orleans route twice a week and that was my last stop. Burned off 3000 calories unloading a 53' trailer and gained them all back eating there. I was good friends with the manager. She told me to go in anytime and I could eat for free. She always got our extra cases.

You can actually buy the boil bags of Popeyes Redbeans. Go to Caro in Bayou Blue and tell them you want to buy a Diversified Red Beans..... they the exact same thing.

Not the same recipe. The new ones have this heavy breading that reminds me of the ones at Sonic. The old ones had this really light batter that was absolutely awesome.

This says there's sausage in them, but I don't think I've ever seen a piece of sausage unless it's pureed in them.

Anyone remember the fried clam strip dinners they used to have on the menu? Stopped selling them probably in the late 80's/early 90's. They were pretty tasty.

Their chicken wrap was legit and cheap. I buy flour tortillas and make my own but it just isn’t the same

I may not have found the correct one. I was going by what Chez said in the other thread.

When I was a rookie fireman in New Orleans, one of Al’s guys used to have one of us drive out to the Carrollton and Canal Popeyes and pick up a delivery. Two big duffle bags filled with chicken and Fixins. We would bring one to him right outside the dome on game days and the other bag was for us. he Had to pay off security to sneak the chicken into the suite. Probably couldn’t get away with that these days.

I imagine Diversified foods makes several versions of products. The one linked with sausage is probably just one variety. My guess is Popeyes buys one without sausage.
