Belicheat has had a number of fortuitous pieces of circumstance fall for him. Brady, owner who keeps the commissioner in his back pocket, incredibly weak division for over a decade, the whole cheating deal...

There’s still no way to argue against the # of trips to the Super Bowl and the # of wins once he’s there. He’s tGOAT in the NFL.

Saban is tUndisputed GOAT in CFB.

But Carroll is probably #3. He won multiple national titles in CFB and took his team to multiple Super Bowls, and won NFL Super Bowls as well. No one has done what he’s done at both levels of the sport at an elite level.

I know they are all modern era guys, but I think it’s apparent that the modern era of the sport is the toughest to sustain and maintain consistently high level results. Meaning that their ranking in my view is legitimate.

Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer are the only other coaches to have won a National Championship and Super Bowl I believe.

Saban wouldn’t have thrown the ball at the goal line with Marhsawn Lynch in his backfield.

An argument can probably be made that he’s the second best overall head football coach, college or pro, right now.

Argument could be made that Houston Nutt is the second best overall coach. Doesn’t make it a good argument

He’s lost Marshawn and the Legion of Boom and built them back up into contenders in two years.

I’m impressed.

But you'll never really know. Saban has shown he can't succeed at the highest level of football. Pete Carroll has been a champion at professional and amateur though.

Unless there's a Lombardi Trophy in your trophy case, you'll never be the best. Sorry but it's just science.

Adds two years (he was under contract until 2019). A raise. His hippy self is perfect for Seattle. Right now the team is in a trust funded by the estate of Paul Allen. By 2021 they may know if they are going to keep the team in the family or sell.

Seems like a good deal all around. The Allen family has plenty of money.

Link to all these multiple titles. The record will show no, as in zero (0), college championships.
