LSU/Southern Miss 1994. The day the program hit rock bottom.
I don’t remember all of it but I remember telling my parents as we were leaving that the reason we lost was because the other team had more fans than us. Funny to think about that now, but I read an article when we played them a couple years ago that said there were only around 40k people there that night.

First game I attended was sometime during Charles Alexander era - all I remember was rocking the #4 jersey, don't even remember opponent. Seemed to remember it might have been Oregon in 1977.
First tv game I remember was an old bowl game on Raycom. I believe it was the Wake Forest Tangerine Bowl - Coach Mac's last game. Not many games were televised back then.

I'm in my 40's. Weren't a lot of nationally televised games in the late 70's, sans bowls. I lived in some very rural areas without cable. I think mine was '82 Florida. Hilliard's freshman season. That might've been the first tiger player I learned. I only got lsu games on the TBS sec game of the week. Listened to a lot of Hawthorne.

1996 white out game against Vandy.

My 1st LSU game to watch was on TV when there was only 3 major networks. I was in charge of turning the antenna outside until the channel was clear. The game was Bert Jones senior year against Alabama and coach Bear Bryant. Saw those uniforms and being Louisiana team I was hooked from then on.

TV: Jan 1, 1959 Sugar Bowl #1 LSU vs. #12 Clemson
Durel Matherne pitches back to Billy Cannon who raced to his right and passed to Mickey Mangham, scoring the game's only touchdown. LSU won 7-0 over Clemson. The polls declaring LSU National Champs were already released in December
In Person: 9/26/59 LSU 10 TCU 0

1979 LSU vs Miss St 21-3 Tigers.. Cholly Mac's last game.. Ensminger and Woodley at QB

First game I remember on tv as a young fan is the 2001 SEC title game vs. Tennessee.
My first game to attend in Tiger Stadium was the most LSU game of LSU games. A 2005 sleep walk 19-17 victory over a terrible Arkansas Razorbacks. Welcome to being a Tiger fan youngin.

1968 Sugar Bowl vs. Wyoming.
Like today, undefeated teams from smaller conferences were looked at with skepticism way back when, as Wyoming was ranked sixth. LSU was unranked.
Wyoming did have a couple who would be well-known NFL stars—K Jerry DePoyster and RB Jim Kiick.
Tigers 20, Cowboys 13.

Tulane - 1946
My uncle was injured in the game - LSU won handily and I was given a ball used in the game. Wish I still had it.

Back in the early 70's my Cub Scout Troop went to a few games and we were to escort people to their seats. I don't remember exactly what year, but it was probably 71 or 72. I was only like 7 or 8 and don't remember which games, wasn't really into LSU enough to know who played or what games. First game I remember anything about was 1979. Ensminger and Woodley shared time at QB and LSU lost to Fla. State. I was 15 at the time.

1963, LSU (5-1) vs Ole Miss (5-0-1). Rebels took the Tigers led by QB Billy Ezell to the woodshed, 37-3. The Tigers were so thoroughly beaten that afternoon the Joe Labruzzo took off on a 2nd half punt return, and made it all the way to the Rebel six inch line! Four plays later, they were back at the 6!
Billy Ezell was the worst starting QB in LSU history. He was thrown into action in Game 4 of that year (a 3-0 win at Miami) when Pat Screen, a really good QB, separated his shoulder in the 4th quarter of that game.
Trivia time: I was 17 years old when I finally learned that Pat Screen DID NOT invent the Screen pass!
More trivia: Ole Miss so completely dominated the Tigers in 1963 that their backup QB was playing by the 2nd quarter. The name of that QB? It was Jim Weatherly, who later gained fame as a songwriter. Gladys Knight and the Pips recorded a number of his songs, the most famous being "Midnight Train to Georgia" and "You're The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me". The QB Jim Weatherly was a perfect 7 of 7 vs the hapless Tigers.

1995 Indy bowl versus Michigan State. Dinardo brought the magic back that year. I was 13. LSU’s first bowl game since I had been in school.

Texas am game when they had that fricker leeland mcelroy or whatever the duck his name is as rb. It was at Texas am and they had astroturf back then. That's what I remember. I'm sure LSU lost bc I've remembered his name and that game ever since and despise it.
