However, I suspect that many on here have not seen Spirited Away or Princes Mononoke. I just can’t believe that so many who have seen all 4 films would choose The Sword in the Stone or The Brave Little Toaster over these masterpieces. They are just on a whole other level. A contest that would have both of them voted out in the initial round just doesn’t seem credible to me.

Exactly. Almost no one who voted for those two films over these two masterpieces have seen them. It’s like someone saying Armageddon is a better action film then T2. Or that You, Me, and Dupree is a better comedy than Blazing Saddles. No sense in going on when bottom of the barrel Disney films beat one of the greatest movies ever made. This thread is full of blatant lies.

1. Toy Story
2. Wall-E
3. Ratatouille

I'm still not totally convinced Patton Oswalt was the best actor they could have cast for Remy, and I'm not crazy about the body control via hair pulling mechanic, but 95% of Ratatouille is perfect, and I think it and Inside Out are far and away the two most enjoyable for a solely adult audience.

I'm not a fan of Mononke, but I loved Spirited Away. One was forgettable to me and the other wasnt. Cant really explain why. Maybe I need to give it another shot. I just remember watching Sword in the Stone a ton as a kid. It was one of my favorites, but I probably havent seen it in 25 years. That's why I voted for one Ghibli film and not the other

Also, I'll reiterate, if Akira loses to Tangled, everyone should ban themselves. Akira is not only a marvel of animation, it greatly influenced wider filmmaking as a whole. I honestly dont like anime generally. But Akira is a masterpiece

Wow, only one matchup that I couldn't vote on lol. I've seen way too many movies.

The first round was fairly easy with the only real tough choice between Batman: Mask of the Phantasm against Wreck it Ralph. Those two would probably easily win the first two rounds if they didn't have to face off in the first.

Agreed. Also, I hope that American Tail beats out Toy Story 3. With 3 toy story movies (and I am one who nominated all 3), there is more than enough TS representation. An American Tail was awesome.

The seeding is suspect with this list and is going to throw some people off, especially if they haven't seen the movie.

You're arguing over 2 shitty movies that a handful of people are even aware exists, but Cars isn't good enough to make the field of 64?
This tournament is lame.

And how is that? It took me forever to put this together. There were probably 12 movi3w that were tied in votes, and every one of the tie breakers got the seeds they are based off their imdb score.

My second favorite of all time has a bad ranking and a bad matchup. A number of movies I dont really care for have high speeds. One of my favorites of all missed put by one vote, I could have thrown it in as a 16 seed and nobody would have noticed.

It's true to form I know that.

It's not my fault people didnt get in and vote for their favorites.

Sword and the Stone was one of my favorite movies as a child. A better comparison than the asinine shite you keep throwing out would be me saying The Mighty Ducks is better than whatever highly rated sports flick you want to name, because to me, it is. Just like all the sports movies, I’m not that interested in all these new animated films. Im not saying TMD is an all time classic and better than Godfather or whatever film you want to blurt out. I don’t have kids and they’re not catered to me. I can’t keep up with the entertainment that is catered to me, so why would I be emotionally invested in this genre as an adult (outside of the obvious ones in here that aren’t kids movies like Ghost in the Shell)? I’ve watched the movies, mostly because of my wife who randomly puts one on or just to see what all the fuss is about. They’re entertaining. But I can’t tell you the last trailer I’ve seen for an animated film. Some of these films were straight up amazing to me as a kid though. It should be a nostalgia tournament, because most of these movies don’t hold up in my opinion versus other entertainment. I know looking at these votes that other voters feel the exact same way.

Eh, people are going to disagree, that's human.

Look Princess Mononoke is a fine film. But even by people who have seen it, how many seek it out again and again? Consumption can be a quality of it's own.

Napoleon... this scene is far more memorable than anything in American Tale. Also, if the reverse of that Pelicans mug is a FO Storm Trooper, I have the same one as my go to around the house.
