I’ve been having one for almost 2 years and still haven’t caught a fish on it.

But I rarely throw it.

I have a couple of them. I have caught fish on them. Not sure if I have caught more on it or a regular lunker lure. One plus side to it is it floats, you can stop it along side of a grass bed then start reeling it in again.

And if you get the big one, better use braided line. Its heavy and will snap monofilament or fluorocarbon if you "whip it" when you cast. A buddy told me....

I bought a big one and a smaller one of the “go to” colors for lake Verret. Threw the smaller one maybe 50 casts and never caught a fish. The big one snapped my 18 lb test mono after maybe 3 casts. I’m sure it’s hung up somewhere in Toledo bend.

This is def true. I lost my only plopper on my first cast so that’s why I’m curious. I got a side of a stump thinking my line would handle it. Nope. And I was so excited to see how it would perform

I caught a few bass on. The little one they came out with doesn't work as well as the original. I prefer the lighter color models.

Caught 2 6#ers on the big one at Toledo Bend last fall within 25yds of each other.
Had a few other good fish. Conditions were perfect though. I only use the smaller ones on other lakes.

I caught a 5lber on the big one in Lake Martin early summer and a few other smaller 1-2lb fish on the medium sized ones.

Made a few cast with the big one and had a redfish take a swipe at it by missed, but I haven't thrown it in saltwater since.

I made a terrible cast and there's one stuck 30' up in a cypress tree on Lake Martin, my eyes watered up a bit when that happened.

Same for me. But one of my buddies has caught some on it.

Fished Lake DeGray for a week this summer and caught a lot of fish using one. Granted these were schooling fish in about 100ft of water, so it was not your typical deal. Caught blacks, whites and stripers on it.

I've caught quite a few on the bone color...when conditions are right it's a big fish bait...

of course the last one I caught on it wasn't any bigger than the bait...

good on speckled trout as well...

I love mine! I caught two nice largemouths on it last spring. It is very easy to use, be sure to use a line that floats and just cast and retrieve. It is exciting to get a hit on it, as you see the fish jump.

The YouTube videos would have me convinced I’m going to catch a giant but I can’t bring myself to buy one.

Love them. Absolutely hammered the bass the last couple years in bayou black on the 90 size. Loon, bone and chartreuse shad are my favorites. Definitely got to use braided line!

I have a buddy that fishes lunker lures all day and he’s caught some nice fish on a whopper plopper. I’ll only throw a lunker lure early in or late in the evening which is the way 95% people use them but this guy actually makes it work. I thought he was an idiot the first time he told me what he likes to fish until I saw him in action and catching really nice fish.

I got spanked last year by a guy throwing a buzz bait in the middle of the day / summer 100 degrees bluebird skies

I couldn't believe it

I bought one over the summer. First cast, I got a bass. Still waiting for the second.
