The story of Jaylon Smith

Jaylon Smith was a star linebacker on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in 2015. When they played in the Fiesta Bowl against OSU, he decided to risk himself by playing. During the game, he tore both his ACL and MCL. He was being mocked as a Top 5 pick before the injury. As a result of the injury, he fell to the 2nd round of the draft. Jalen Ramsey, who was selected at #5 in the 2016 NFL Draft, was paid 23.4 million in his rookie contract. Smith would fall to the 2nd pick of the 2nd round by the Dallas Cowboys. He was only paid 6.5 million by his rookie contract. Just think of this when you criticize Greedy for sitting out.

the people criticizing Greedy for making this decision may be the same people telling others they can't criticize Orgeron bc we've never been in his shoes before

No need to criticize Greedy, he is doing what is best for him. He was great to watch at LSU, wish him the best.

99.99% of people criticising him would do the same thing in his shoes.

Everyone who boards a plane has a chance of it crashing very very few ever do. It's safer than riding in a car.
I respect his decision though.

5% happening
Now that he’s not playing he has a 100% chance of it not happening in the bowl

He then proceeded to take his anger out by headshotting everyone he sees

LA'el Collins lost his first round draft pick money because he was implicated in a murder investigation. shite happens outside of your control every day.. you can't base your decisions around possibilities and what ifs. I don't blame Greedy in the least, but I don't think it's the "right" decision.

Taken to its logical conclusion, players will start sitting out after their freshman year, or one good game, or just skip college entirely and work on their combine numbers.

These guys aren’t skipping the bowl to avoid injury. They’re skipping a month of practice and bowl game to get the money a month sooner.

Bowl games are pointless.
Of course Greedy should sit out.
What benefit does it offer him?
