Is it acceptable for me to punish junior high(7-9 grade) kids for a loss?

So we missed over half of our free throws tonight and I'm thinking about making them run all day Monday for it since it was the difference in the game. How do you not make fricking free throws pieces of shite
Eta: if they miss a free throw in practice I think I'm gonna make them run a suicide for every miss.
For clarification for those who dont want to read the thread. We already practice free throws every day with music at the end of practice. You think I havent tried covering all these bases already?

You should push them over too if the lean over to catch their breath.

By punish I think you mean practice and motivate.
I realize they are the only free shots in the game but lighten up Francis.

Sounds like the time would be better spent shooting free throws

Who cares as long as the kids are having fun?
None of them are playing college ball

What would Bob Knight do?

The other option would be to shoot free throws all day.

24 hour rule.
Cool down and if you still feel this way tomorrow at this time then do what you gotta do

Make them come in at 4 in the morning and do nothing but shoot free throws all day. Tell them they'll never be the next Lebron with their lazy work ethic.

Your thread title tells me all I need to know. It’s you, not them.

And they never will with that attitude. Dad, uh I mean the kids, have a chance to be special. They can make it to the NBA if they work hard enough.

a better coach would have had them prepared, maybe youre the one that needs punishment

Why weren’t they already running when they miss too many free throws in practice. A good coach fixes things before they lose games

I hope my son's coach gets advice from the OT.

We shoot free throws every day. Obviously they dont want to win bad enough so if their own intrinsic motivation isn't enough I'll have to give them extrinsic motivation
